There is More Free Information Online Than You'll Ever Need
How to start if you don't know anything about making money online. First, take your hand off of your wallet. There are so many ways to start becoming familiar with online marketing, if you start by paying you'll run out of money before you really need it.

I was amazed at how many people there are who are willing to GIVE information away that obviously took them some time to aquire. I thought that if I was going to make money online I was going to have to pay, I just didn't know how much.
So I started looking, there are a LOT of get rich quick sites out there. I was sure that if I was thoughtful and not too greedy I would be able to find one that worked without having to spend too much to get started. I started by Googling make money online, I got 1-10 of about 26,700,000. Surely in there there was one that I could afford and get going without having to have too much computer skills, which are still pretty limited.

Practice Here, There are A TON of Free Tools and Helpful Friends
You will need the skills in HTML that you can start to develop right here.
You will learn about traffic, keywords, linking,
adding things to your site to make it more interesting
and here's the big one RELEVANT.
Relevant means, does anyone want the information that
you have to offer?
Find out what people want to know and give it to them.

Before you do anything else, start by seeing what kind of traffic your keyword is going to be looking at. I've just Googled "scooters", search results 1-10 of about 38,600,000. "Riding scooters" 1-10 of about 24,000, "kids riding scooters" 1-10 of about 763. Some people say to aim for keywords where there are less than 5,000 results. I think it would be easier to compete with 763 results than with 38,600,000.
Don't forget to check the page rank of the site your going to list to. If it's higher than the sites on the first page of results, you are on your way to a first page listing.

So you don't consider yourself a world class author, maybe you can barely hunt and peck like myself. If you never start you won't improve. That's what starting with a small Squidoo Page is all about. Write a couple of lines, just the headline for each module, then when you feel a little more comfortable ad a subtitle. Enter some text, just a little at a time. You don't have to write a novel, yet. Maybe you will, what a shame if you never even tried. There are some GREAT sites about writing out there, they will always tell you to write about something you're passionate about, there is something, you might be thinking about it right now and saying, " yeah, but..."
