How to tie a Sarong or Pareo
Getting the right knot.

If you have ever wanted to learn how to tie a sarong or pareo because they are so comfortable to wear when it's hot. but if you don't know how to tie them properley so they look good and don't fall off, they can be very embarrasing. There are a lot of different ways to tie them, both traditionaly and more creatively. I found three easy ways to do this at
http://www.nudebeachaustralia.com/?/How
I would like to share this info with you, as I found these to be the simplest and easiest to use. I'll do my best, but the site has pictures etc.
The front knot.
One of the easiest ways to tie your Sarong or Pareo is with the front knot.
Step One.
Wrap the Sarong around you from the back and gather the two top corners together. Hold them in one hand and pass them around to the back,
so your front is covered by the centre of the fabric piece.
Step Two.
Place your other hand behind your body and grab the opposite corner of the
fabric. Cross over the corners and bring your hands round to the front.
Step Three.
You can either tie the Sarong above your bust or around your midriff.
This will also work for tying the Pareo at the waist to only cover your lower body. This is a very safe method of tying and will not come undone when you are walking around.
The Gathered Knot
Commonly used in the South Sea Islands for the tying Pareos/Sarongs.
Step One.
Wrap the Pareo around you from the back and hold the ends together in front of you and out to the one side. Then move your hands back along the cloth towards your body. Gather enough fabric together to tie a knot above your bust.
Step Two.
You can wear this knot as it is, or pass the end of the outside free hanging
section inside the gap and back over the knot, to disguise it.
Wear the knot like this if you like, leaving the other section out to give you a fall of fabric to show off the print.
Step Three.
If you wish, you can now pass the left-over section back inside the gap and
tuck it up and pull the tail out from under your arm to finish off.
This knot can also be worn around the waist.
If you like the short Sarong look, you can fold the fabric in half along it's length and start again from step one.
The Halter Neck Knot
An easy yet great way to wear a Sarong / Pareo.
Nude beach sarongs are 300mm longer than the standard length to allow
larger women to use this method comfortably.
Step One.
Wrap the Pareo around you from the back and hold the ends together
in front of you. Cross the two ends over and tie them behind your neck.
This forms a very attractive halter neck dress. Simple stuff!
Sarongs are a very comfortable and versatile way to cover up at
the beach or around the pool.
This particular style is extremely easy to wear and covers enough to wear out anywhere. Hope this has helped all you would be sarong wearers out there. Daglette
