Positive Thinking. Why is that so difficult?

For the majority of people it is very challenging to be positive in general.

We always tend to assume that the worst is going to happen. That way if it does, we won't be so disappointed. It's human nature to prepare ourselves for less than desirable outcomes.

But....
*what if that's the very problem?
*what if we are actually inviting those outcomes into our lives simply because we prepare ourselves for the worst?

By preparing for the worst... you are opening your front door to it.

So how do you prepare for the BEST?

What are Afformations?

Afformations are based based on the law of attraction, or the law of reaping what you sow.

You're thoughts are the little seeds that begin that cycle of attraction!

Logically, if we want to attract what we want, we have to change our thoughts to allow it.

Have you ever tried using affirmations? (go on... raise your hand if you have)

Yeah, me too. Did it work?

To a certain degree they did work for me. But there were certain ones that my brain simply wasn't going to accept no matter how hard I tried. Especially when my current situation was in direct conflict with my affirmation.

So how are afformations different?
They are actually affirmations, just in a different "form".... (af-form-ation)

The funny part is that you already use them, you just don't know it.

When you make a mistake, what do you say to yourself?
Usually it's something like, "Why can't I do anything right?".

Guess what, your brain literally finds the answers to support that question! If you ask negative questions, you're going to get negative answers.

So what if you started using afformations in a positive sense?

Using afformations lets your mind explore a question instead of trying to make yourself believe a statement.

To help you get the idea of what an afformation looks like, I'll share a few of mine that I use.


  • Why do I deeply and completely love and accept myself?

  • Why am I at peace and happy?

  • Why am I more than enough?

  • Why do I give myself permission to succeed financially?

  • Why do I love myself as I am?

  • Why am I physically strong and healthy?



Okay but how do I use them?

That's simple: anyway that works best for you! I have some displayed on my mirror. I say them to myself each morning. You can also use them at any other time during the day. By reading, saying, listening, or writing them down. I've found them especially helpeful when I have that little negative voice creepying back into my head.

    Good post, I recently started using afformations and had the idea to put them on t-shirts. It's a little odd to think that the whole self improvement thing is over a hundred years old and that afformations only occured to someone twelve years ago. Still, better now than in a hundred years.
