New Voodoo Spells, Magick, and Rituals!
This lens focuses on the magickal side of Voodoo; that aspect of Voodoo that the typical person is drawn to when in need of change in their lives. The type of Voodoo that this lens focuses on is Creole Voodoo, also known as New Orleans Voodoo. Indeed, Voodoo became one of the primary ways for slaves to resist the oppression of their slave owners. The warrior gods sustained and empowered them, and assisted in their ultimate liberation from slavery. This my friend, is the power of Voodoo when backed by the necessary faith.

New Orleans Voodoo Examiner
The Voodoo Doll Spellbook: A Compendium of Ancient and Contemporary Spells and Rituals
From the author of Voodoo Dolls in Magick and Ritual, Alvarado's collection of spells and folklore captures perfectly the drama and mystery of humankind's relationship with magickal dolls throughout history. With contributions by Doktor Snake, Sharon Marino, and Carolina Dean, the triumphs and hardships of daily life are in the rituals, words, and formulas, set against the spiritual backdrop of ancient Greece, Malay, Mexico, Africa, Europe, the Deep South and New Orleans. Whether you are a practitioner of the occult or simply a lover of folklore, you will find this book provocative, alluring, informative and entertaining.
How would you like to open Marie Laveau's trick bag of Voodoo Doll spells? The Great and Powerful Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, Marie Laveau, was known to create little dolls and place them on the doorsteps of enemies, or use them to win court cases, or to unite lovers. She had a veritable goldmine of brilliant methods for gaining the knowledge she needed for her spells to be effective. One ploy was to surreptitiously place a Voodoo doll near the front door of her victims, more often than not the house-servants of well-known New Orleans families. When the Voodoo doll was discovered, the victim was convinced they had been hexed by someone other than Marie, and would run to Mam'zelle for help. Marie would render the doll harmless if the victim agreed to act as her spy and provide her with information about the affairs of the prominent family where the victim worked. Now that is one hell of a magickal manipulation!
Doktor Snake, author of the cult classic the Voodoo Spellbook, tells how to make money with a Voodoo doll and how to protect yourself with a Voodoo doll. Sharon Marino, the Voodoo Domme of hoodoo, tell how to make a fith fath for domination and binding and how to make a couple of mud dollies inspired by Native American traditions. Finally, pagan author Carolina Dean provides a nifty spell for tripping up a thief.
Inside this book you will find countless secret spells that help you to bind your enemies, banish naysayers, bend people to do your will, and win court cases. For the first time anywhere, you will learn the secret for how to make a Get Even Gris Gris Doll to even the score. Learn how to break up a couple, destroy all of your problems, get a job, cure sickness, call forth spirits, win in games of chance and attain success. Inside, you will find spells to make yourself irresistible, find a lover, make your lover faithful, and spice up your sex life. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
How would you like to know how to make your wishes come true? Or find true love? Catch a thief? Keep your dog or cat from wandering off? Break a curse? Or drive someone crazy?
Many of the spells in this book are based on ancient recipes and rituals that are found in the anthropological literature and archeological records, such as spells from ancient Egypt, Chaldea, Greece, Africa, and Europe. Other spells are based on spells found in ancient sacred texts, and many are from the grimoires of the author herself, shared for the first time in the Voodoo Doll Spellbook. A logical follow up to the author's previous work, Voodoo Dolls in Magick and Ritual, the Voodoo Doll Spellbook picks up where the former leaves off, providing you with information never before revealed for improving any area of your life using one of the oldest tools of humankind - the Voodoo doll.

For Luck in Games of Chance
For good luck in games of chance, make a conjure doll out of green flannel while burning Money Drawing incense. Stuff the doll with Irish moss, and leave a small opening. Anoint a Cross of Caravaca (figure 14) with High John the Conqueror Oil and put inside the doll along with 7 Job's tears. Write down seven wishes on a piece of parchment paper and put inside the doll and sew the doll closed. Take a green 7 knob candle and write each of your seven wishes on a separate knob of the candle. Anoint with High John the Conqueror Oil. Set the doll next to the candle and pour some of the wax from each knob onto the doll. As each knob melts, your wish is absorbed into the energy of the candle and becomes one with the energy of the doll. Once the candle has burned down, dispose of the wax remains at a crossroads, or throw in a running river or stream. Keep the doll in a safe place where it will not be held by others, like a safe, and take out every Friday to "feed" it with a sprinkling of magnetic sand. Boss Fix Conjure Oil Formula
Tremendously popular in the Vieux Carré, Boss Fix Oil is perfect for handling problematic employers. Surreptitiously place a tiny bit under his desk or use on an orange candle representing him/her. Boss Fix Oil is used when you need to create harmony in the workplace, stop a supervisor from harassing you or are trying to get a promotion or raise. Write your supervisor's name on brown paper and anoint with this oil. Wear it in your right shoe to "walk on" your boss. Anoint your boss' office or paperwork where he/she will walk in it on touch it and begin to favor you.
Ingredients
- Chili powder
- Licorice root
- Musk essential oil
- Pinch of Tobacco
- Sage essential oil
Instructions
Add the above ingredients to a base of almond oil to which a few drops of vitamin E oil has been added as a preservative.
Ancient Chaldean Spell
This spell is based on ancient Chaldean magic. Create an effigy in the image of your enemy out of wood, fabric, or other burnable material. Take some nails and drive them into the effigy while chanting the following:I forge this image, I bewitch it,
the malevolent aspect, the evil eye,
the malevolent mouth, the malevolent tongue,
the malevolent lip, the finest sorcery,
Spirit of the heavens, conjure it! Spirit of the earth, conjure it!
Burn the effigy and spread the ashes in the yard of your enemy.

Repelling Negativity
Use a Voodoo Doll (or a Squid) with an Evil Eye Bead to Repel Evil and Negativity
Have you suffered from unexplained distress and misfortune? Having a streak of bad luck? Have you suddenly fallen ill? These are all signs that you may be the victim of an attack by the Evil Eye (Mal de Ojo).To repel negativity and evil influences from your home and to avoid and remove the Evil Eye, you can use a Voodoo doll that has an Evil Eye bead talisman on it. Get a Voodoo guardian or protector doll with an evil eye bead and place it at the doorway of your home. This Voodoo amulet will also ward off other malevolent dangers, including spiritual attacks.

How to Dispose of a Cursed Voodoo Doll
You Got Some Bad Mojo, Now What?
If you really feel that you have somehow acquired a negative Voodoo doll, the best thing to do is to put it in a white cloth and shake a whole lot of sea salt on it. Sea salt is routinely used as a purifier in magick. Then, take it to a river or stream or somewhere deep in the woods with an offering of fruit and some coins. Ask the spirits of the water or the trees to take the negative energy and transform it through the power of the earth. Leave the area without looking back and when you arrive home light a 7-day protection candle and take a bath with cleansing herbs, including sea salt. Basil and juniper are two good options for this type of cleansing spiritual bath.
Another option is to wait until a Saturday to get rid of it. Put the doll in a clean, white cloth and dig a hole in the ground somewhere far away from your home. Place the doll in the hole and burn it. When it has reduced to ashes, sprinkle some Holy Water on it and cover the hole over with dirt. The earth will transform that negative energy very quickly and turn it into positive energy and blessings. When you return home afterward, bathe very well, adding some Holy Water to your bath.
Don't know where to get Holy Water? I'll tell you an old Indian secret. Take a glass of ordinary water and place it in the east window of your home. In the morning as the sun shines on the water, it will be transformed into Holy Water.

What do the Seven Pins Mean?
Numbers and colors are at the core of Hoodoo and Voodoo symbology. It is hard to definitively say where the importance of the number seven came from. The number seven is integral to many Native American belief systems, representing the seven sacred directions, and it is commonly known that much of Hoodoo and Voodoo came from the indigenous knowledge of the healing plants and herbs in ritual and healing practices. In addition, it is believed that the availability of the Jewish menorah candle holders were widely available and purchased by practitioners and ultimately the use of seven candles, seven colors, and the number seven in general were incorporated into the practice.
If you research the topic at all, you will find discrepencies into the meanings of the seven colors. I am offering one interpretation of the meanings of the seven colored pins found in new Orleans Voodoo. Note that this interpretation is based on right hand Voodoo practice.
Symbolism of the 7 pin colors:
yellow - success
white - positive
red - power
purple - spirituality
green - money
blue - love
black - repelling negative energy

Where to Stick It
All that is left to do is to wait and trust in your personal power that the Universe will help you make your intentions manifest. Patience is your best attribute now.
Karmically Incorrect Use of the Seven Pins
If You Believe you are Above Karmic Law, Knock Yourself Out
To make your Voodoo doll represent a person, place some of that person's hair or a personal item inside the cloth of the doll to capture part of their soul. Use your black pin into the part of the body that you want the person to experience negativity. For example, a pin in the heart can cause heartbreak or heart problems, the stomach a stomach ache, the back a back ache or relationship problems, etc. With each stick you must focus your intention with the utmost clarity. Then place the doll on the person's doorstep or in their mailbox and watch them totally freak out. Or bury it, but you are really asking for trouble here...
Then back up and watch all hell break loose (in YOUR life, that is)!
Please note that I do not advise using your doll in this way. Voodoo is a powerful magickal system and the law of karma will not make an exception for you. Use of your Voodoo doll in any fashion other than with the right hand as I have recommended may result in severe negative consequences that I will take no responsibility for. So don't come bitching and moaning to me about it after the fact, unless you want to make things right, then I might be of assistance, if your desire to do so is due to Right Intention.
BONUS: Using the Seven Pins in Candle Magick
Using the Law of Attraction in Candle Magick
To use your pins with a candle, you start with
a regular offeratory or large candle and seven pins of the seven colors. The candle is divided into seven equal parts by sticking the pins into the candle at seven equal intervals. The seventh pin goes into the top or bottom of the candle. Make sure the pins go all the way in the candle. Take a piece of parchament paper (best to start with a rather large piece of paper) and write down seven wishes. Fold the paper at a 90 degree angle and write your full name over your wish, then fold again and write your name again, proceeding with this process seven times. Dress your candle with the appropriate oil and place the folded paper under the candle. The candle is burned for seven nights, with the flame pinched out each time a pin falls. Save all of the pins and when the last needle falls, stick the pins into the paper so that it looks like the one in the picture. According to the law of attraction, bury the paper, pins and leftoverwax under your doorstep to attract your wishes to you. If your wishes are of the repelling type, throw the ritual remains in a crossroads, graveyard, or in a moving stream or river.

- One of the most famous bits of New Orleans folklore is that of the haunted New Orleans Voodoo wish spell. Performed by tourists and natives alike, this spell takes place at the site of Marie Laveaus final resting place. Myths abound regarding the actual location of the grave site of New Orleans' most famous Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau. Some say she is buried in the St. Louis No. 2 cemetary (Hauck, 1996) in a tomb marked "Marie Laveau Tomb". Others speculate she is buried in any number of other cemetaries in New Orleans (Tallant, 1946). Complicating the issue is the fact that she had a daughter who was also named Marie Laveau, and it is anybody's guess in which tomb she rests.

See what people are saying about "Voodoo Dolls in Magick and Ritual"
By Bonnie Ruiter "Raven" (Portsmouth, NH United States) -
I found this book to be extremely informative and well written. I loved the fact that she included lots of pictures, patterns with directions, recipes and more. As I was reading along, I could feel her presence within the pages of the book teaching and sharing her passions for these truly amazing dolls. Well worth every dollar.
By N. Mentor "imanisaida" (Boston, MA) -
There are few complete sources for the history and use of the magickal poppet, or in the Hoodoo and Voodoo traditions - the Voodoo doll. The book provides the reader with a straight-forward historical backdrop to doll use in magick. There are black-and-white photographs of dolls from the African Diaspora, including some interesting ones from the author's private collection, which should inspire the reader. The latter half of the book focuses on how to make dolls, use them in ritual (including some common Hoodoo spells and hexes), common divinities associated with doll use and some oil recipes. I also like that there is a bibliography for additional references and a source page for supplies. This book is a worthy addition to any witch's or practitioner's library.

- The most voodoo I know is making a likeness of someone with their hair or other genetic material and doing what you want to it to reflect it on the person's body. I don't believe in voodoo though, people would use it more often if it actually worked.
