Facebook marketing strategy revolves around the following key elements:

1. Your Facebook Profile

Facebook provides the opportunity to add a very extensive profile covering your interests and background. Your interests, etc. in your profile help to determine who you can access and who can access you.

You can create multiple levels of privacy restrictions on your information. Facebook facilitates social networking because it enables you to share who you are and what you like. If you don't want to share, Facebook is not for you and won't be of any use as a marketing forum. It also not the place for blatant advertising.

2. Your Friends

Like MySpace, Facebook enables you to create friends with whom you can share as much as you want through your posts, profile, applications and RSS feeds. You get to accept or reject friend requests. Friends enable you to share more about what you are doing and what you are interested in. The sharing can be on a much more personal and open level than on MySpace. You can develop strong support relationships and even joint ventures through your friends. You will be amazed with the people you find or who find you - even top internet marketers.

3. Your Posts

You show something of your interests and expertise through your posts which can be via the Facebook posted items application or via posting on someone's Facebook wall. One of the conventions of FaceBook is to share other interesting sites, not just your own.

4. Your Facebook applications

There are over 2,000 Facebook applications that enable you to share information, have fun and learn about other people's likes and dislikes. Choosing the right applications can have a mjor impact on your effectiveness in marketing on Facebook.

5. Your RSS feeds

You can add your RSS feeds from your blogs, news feeds or article feeds to keep Facebook readers up to date.

NB. One of the major unspoken benefits of Facebook is that you can have ready access to some of the top Internet marketers. There are numerous top affiliate marketers on Facebook and if you are accepted as a friend you can message them very easily.

I have spent the past few months mastering Squidoo and I have avoided FaceBook. I am really grateful that I purchased Tinu's ebook otherwise I would have been lost on FaceBook. Facebook is a much more subtle marketing environment than Squidoo - overt marketing will get you ostrasized.

So one of the great benefits of Facebook is to link to people who are incredibly resourceful and generous. There is a real spirit of sharing and linking.
