5 Steps To Success In 2009
Huge financial crash. Global cash crunch. Cruel terror strike.
And also many good things - in the world, and in your life.
Which ones you choose to focus most of your time and attention on will determine how you'll move, what you'll do and why you'll win.
Together, let's explore - in 5 parts - the things to concentrate upon in the year that's coming. Here's...
How To WIN In 2009
Set Goals
In "How To WIN In 2009"
If you don't know where you're going, how will you know when you get there? And even if you know you aren't 'there' yet, how to figure out what direction to move in?
Your goals, targets and aims are your roadmap to all that you do. And not having a goal is a roadmap too - to wander around in circles, lost and clueless, with no specific path or destination.
Is that what you want for 2009?
If not, NOW is the time to set your goals. Last week, I spent 2 hours with charts, bank statements, and sheets of paper, outlining my goals for just the 1st quarter of 2009.
And what I got out of it was so energizing and inspirational, it got me MOVING faster and with more enthusiasm than ever before.
The number-crunching I did showed that between January and March 2009, I would be able to do some amazing things with my CHD Foundation's projects.
You can be a part of it, and help by making a donation too.
More to the point of goal setting, you too can tap into this energy reservoir that comes from having specific and achievable goals.
To help you with this, here is a report. It is easily worth $97 or more. It's yours today - for FREE.

Have a Strategy
In "How To WIN In 2009"
So, you set goals - and that's half the battle. But unless you're a die-hard believer in "The Secret" (and choose to ignore the missing ingredient in it - taking action), you know you'll have to do something about those goals to attain them and enjoy the benefits that come with that.
Of course, you could do things willy-nilly in a haphazard manner. That's still better than doing nothing!
But if you think out, plan and STRATEGIZE your actions, you'll reach your goals faster, with less effort and a higher certainty of success.
'Strategy' is a word not many understand clearly, often mistaking it for a set of 'tactics'.
A simple distinction is this: Tactics are what you DO... Strategies are about WHY you do them.
Sending email marketing messages is a tactic. Sending them 3 times a week is ALSO a tactic. Sending them through a system that ensures delivery is a tactic too.
The strategy is communicating with an audience with the intention of selling to them!
An area where having a strategy is crucial and important is the exciting, hot and largely misunderstood one of using SOCIAL MEDIA in your business.
To dispel the myths and guide you through the minefield of social marketing, I've compiled SOCIAL WINS, a strategy setting guide to harness the power of social networks in your business and marketing.
A strategy helps you move steadily towards your goals, ignoring distractions and not being carried away by glittering, shiny new things savvy marketers keep tempting you with!
Take some time before 2009 to develop your business strategy. Stick to it through the coming year - and watch your success EXPLODE!

Attention deficit... it's to blame for MOST failures in online business startups.Typically, newbies (and even moderately experienced folks) keep hopping from one fad to the next one, blindly and eagerly following anyone who dangles a carrot of "easy riches" in front of them.
Some are too inexperienced to know better - but most are just greedy, or lazy, or both. Harsh? Blunt? You bet. But better it jerks you out of a rut than leave you in it, so that next year, at the end of 2009, you're doing the "same old, same old" - and struggling to stay above water!
The single biggest skill you must develop to win in 2009 is to stay focused on what you do.
Take a project or idea. Focus exclusively on it. Get it done. Test to see if it is effective or not. If it is, concentrate on growing it bigger. If it is not, and you have tested and tweaked it adequately, drop it - and move to something else!
Think hard BEFORE setting off in a direction. And once you're on your journey, don't stop or slow down just because someone's waving you a carrot... and calling you in another direction.
One of the simplest, yet powerfully effective guides to staying focused and on target was written by my good friend and mentor, Willie Crawford. He has made it available (along with a wealth of powerful content by members of his Inner Circle, including myself) for just $7.
You can try it out today - and get 10 times the value just from his wise lessons on focus.

Just Do It
In "How To WIN In 2009"
I have a friend. He likes to brainstorm ideas. Trouble is, he never gets past that phase!Planning, blueprinting, outlining, strategizing, resource allottment - all of these are important to the success of a project.
But in the end, you've got to JUST DO IT!
Most of the time, the reason to hold back is "fear of failure". But here's the thing - when you don't try at all, you've already FAILED!
So, when you consider that you HAVE failed - and the ONLY way to overcome that failure and find success is to try something - then you won't hold back and over-analyze things to death.
"Paralysis by Analysis" is a common ailment among many first-time entrepreneurs. It can be cured by the vaccine called ACTION. And what keeps it away is the immunity gathered by experiencing FAILURE.
Because when you 'fail' at something, you learn a valuable lesson - about WHY what you tried didn't work. And that shows you what to do differently... so that you SUCCEED.
Knowing how to do things is not enough. Knowing WHAT to do is more essential. Otherwise, you'll get buried under a load of "busy work" - while getting little done.
One of the best guides to teaching this subtle, yet critical distinction and will show you how to be EFFECTIVE by getting things done is a little ebook that's less than $10 - yet as powerful as any $997 program!
It's called ZEN TO DONE - you can get your copy here.
Find Your Passion
In "How To WIN In 2009"
You can do everything we've discussed until now, and still feel like a loser at the end of 2009... if you don't ENJOY whatever you've been doing.Look, too many people measure 'success' in one dimension. By the amount of money they make. By the gadgets and toys they buy. By the assets - home, boat, car - that they own.
Those things are fine. They are one way of 'keeping score'.
But if in the pursuit of these things you are making yourself miserable, unhealthy and frustrated, then would they really mean as much?
Especially when you could be doing all of those very same things - while enjoying your life!
How to do that?
By identifying your PASSION. By tapping into it. By leveraging it into everything you do.
I've enjoyed this sublime feeling of bliss for many years. Almost everything I choose to do these days ties into what I'm passionate about.
Some call it 'luck' or 'fortune'. Yes, there's an element of that, too. But mainly, it happened because of CHOICES I made.
And YOU can make those choices too.
To help you find your true passion, I wrote a short free report - and it has been published by the famous 'Change This' site... you can download your copy of the PASSION MANIFESTO here.

- Keep a journal of goals. Set them for 1 to 3 months in advance. Make them public so that there's no backing down without a struggle (leverage!).
Great Lens, Dr. M!
Wishing you success in 2009!

- I agree with rogercarr---it is all about FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS! I will win by focusing on the many resources I already have in my arsenal and then focusing on using them one by one, hopefully perfecting each one that fits. Thank you Dr. Mani for an excellent report turned into a lens. You are almost there to the Giant Squid page. Just three more! Congrats! Five wins, a fave and a rolled lens.
