HP Pavilion dv7-6b32us Review

I bought this HP Pavilion dv7-6b32us laptop on the Christmas. This laptop is running great. I upgraded the memory from 4GB to 8GB for less than $40. The Windows Experience Index went up from 4.8 to 6.8 with the additional ram. We let the kids play the internet and watch movies on battery power and the computer lasted over 9 hours.

The style is really good in my opinion. I've read a few places where folks complain from the silver rim being cheap seeking, and while it's not solid and unbreakable I think it looks excellent and will not be simple to break unless you drop the laptop or are very rough on it.

The keyboard is smooth and easy to type on as well as the mouse works nicely - as expected. One particular thing I'm not impressed with - multitouch. I've employed a Mac multitouch mouse and they function very smoothly. This "multitouch" mouse is very spotty towards the point of being almost useless. Do not think about the multitouch mouse a getting point - it hardly ever functions appropriately. Even when it does work, the scrolling is entirely too fast to be beneficial.

The RAM is very easy to upgrade and the model I got had 1 4GB DDR3 stick with 1 empty slot - a more affordable upgrade than if it had 2 x 2GB sticks. There's a spot for a secondary difficult drive, but I was disappointed to see that it did not contain a cable to connect the 2nd difficult drive for the laptop. This will need to be purchased separately, and I was able to find it on-line for $32 shipped.

This HP Pavilion dv7-6b32us laptop runs very cool. Naturally I often take care not to impede airflow from the fan (don't put it on a soft blanket, bed, carpet, and so on), but this is possibly the coolest running laptop I've ever owned.
The 9-cell battery has outstanding life, but does stick out the bottom of the laptop - regarding the only styling cue of this laptop that I do not like. It really is somewhat functional, though - allowing for far more airflow to cool the laptop.

The HP Pavilion dv7-6b32us is one of best laptop that I've used. The sleek degign doesn't allow for overheating. Overall this laptop is really quickly and responsive. The only negative factor I have to say may be the view angles. If you're not looking in the screen in the proper angle the best corners seem dark but other than that this really is a suberb laptop for the money!
