How does the Slate stack up to its competition?

Hewlett Packard's long awaited tablet computer, the HP Slate 500, is one of the newest entries in the tablet computer arena, but is already receiving rave reviews across the board. Don't let the Slate's small size fool you. This machine is capable of competing with any netbook and even some full-sized laptops on today's market. With the full version Windows 7 Home Premium, front and rear facing video cameras and microphone (for video chat), both wi-fi and Bluetooth, and USB port all included, ammenities are not scare on this model. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

Pros:
- 2 GB of RAM Memory packed into less space than a new HP Mini
- 64 GB SS (Solid State) Hard Drive
- Front and rear cameras and microphone for video chat
- USB port and SD card reader slot
- HD video playback
- Comes bundled with the tablet, docking stand, carrying case, and stylus

Cons:
- Only one model available so far.
- Ships with nothing but Windows 7, so it lacks things like a specialized touch keyboard interface. The HP Slate 500 uses Windows onscreen keyboard, which may prompt users to install third party keyboard apps.
- Priced at $799, even with the accesories that come bundled with it, the HP Slate 500 is still $32 higher than Apple's comparable Ipad
