HT-1650 Massage Chair by Human Touch

A review of the popular HT-1650 massage chair by Human Touch. A great blend of looks and therapy.

HT-1650 Massage Chair by Human Touch

I have had the pleasure of sitting in one of the most advanced massage chair recliners on the market. This is the HT-1650 massage chair. This chair is manufactured by Human Touch and is an amazing chair that combines grace and elegance with therapeutic effectiveness. The massage proved to be very effective in relieving pain in my neck and back. The chair was able to really work my trouble spots, which is in between my shoulder blades.

I had the foot ottoman pull out, which was all retracted underneath the chair, and this gave me the best foot and calf massage that I have ever felt in a massage chair. After the 15 minute session my feet were a bit tingly and they felt a lot lighter. The tingly feeling was the increase in circulation that just being in the chair for 15 minutes brought about, I couldn't believe it! My feet had never felt better! This chair has, by far, the best foot and calf massager of any massage chair on the market that I am aware of.

The massage was able to effectively go deep enough to work out all the tension in my back muscles and continued to increase the circulation throughout my body. I enjoyed the "Full body sore muscle relief program" which is just one out of eight different auto programs offered with this massage chair. It even had air bags in the seat that inflated and deflated to facilitate the relaxation and circulation. The seat massage feels like little thumbs pushing up at various points throughout my buttock and thigh. It is the same seat massage as the HT-7450 massage chair, also manufactured by Human Touch.

The fabric cutout in the head area allowed for the rollers to get deeper into my neck. However, sometimes my head felt like it could have used a little more support and also with my skinny neck the rollers didn't always come in close enough to my neck to really grab it. I think most folks have a forward head carriage which makes it hard to get the head back far enough on most massage chairs to get a good, deep neck massage. While your neck and upper back get used to the massage and it takes some time for the head to fall back more easily, the accompanying neck pillow fills the void between head and fabric.

Aesthetically, this is a beautiful massage chair with top grain leather that perfectly upholsters the entire chair including the foot ottoman. It comes in cognac and black color options. It can also function as a normal recliner, with the flip of a switch on the side of the ottoman the whole center piece flips over and has a flat cushioned side to it. This feels very comfortable for those who want to come home from work and just sit for a minute with their feet up but not ready to relax too much! One of the reasons this chair is so popular is because it "looks" like a recliner and not like a typical massage chair. It is a phenomenal combination of aesthetics and therapeutic benefit.

At 5'10" I fit this massage chair perfectly. The size of it is well suited for a person of larger stature and I believe it fits heights up to 6'6". So for those of you out there that have felt like they are always too cramped in a massage chair or hanging off of them, you should try this one; you will be amazed at how comfortable it is! It has a longer seat, high back and thick upholstered arms.
The only drawback I felt was that the track on the back did not go as low as I had hoped into the lower back. I have sat in other chairs that the track ran all the way into the upper buttocks area and that always feels really good. Make sure to remove the lumbar pillow when you sit in the HT-1650 massage chair so that you can feel the low back massage more forcefully.

The HT-1650 massage chair also has arm vibration just underneath the surface of the arm rests. The motor that operates the arm vibration makes a repetitive humming sound which may bother some folks. You can just turn it off with the press of a button. I wouldn't call this feature an arm "massage" but the vibration does increase some blood flow in the forearms and can leave you with the typical "tingling" in the arms that tells you that something therapeutic has just happened to your extremities!

This chair comes with a 1 year comprehensive warranty and a 5 year limited warranty, which is standard and expected for a luxury massage chair like this. You can also purchase the extended warranty. Human Touch has a fantastic customer support so any issues you may have will be dealt with promptly and efficiently. Keeping with Human Touch tradition of modular components for easy repair and replacement parts, the HT-1650 can be repaired usually with the replacement of a modular component. This keeps repair costs down and allows the chair owner to fix it relatively easily on their own.

Overall, I was very pleased with the performance of this chair and feel it is a wise investment for health and wellness. It is also a chair that delivers sophistication in design and stylish comfort!
