CSS and HTML Resources

I am constantly striving to beautify my lenses. Just like many Squidooers starting out, my first lenses are a little plain looking. However there have been vast improvements within Squidoo itself since I began Squidoo in July 2008. For instant, "Text with Big Picture" didn't exist. I didn't know how to add images from other sites into my lenses. And the images that were uploaded from my computer ended up to be small pictures on the lenses.

Though content is what should count, beauty is what catches the eye. Dressed up, colorful with just enough pictures will draw in your viewer. Then share your expertise.

Since I have been learning as I go with HTML and CSS, (especially with my websites ebooktreesaver.com and embracethehill.com through trail and error) you can no longer call me a "Newbie" or "Novice" at site design. Just one step up on the edge touching.

Here is a collection of lenses on HTML and CSS backgrounds for Squidoo from the real experts. I have bookmarked many of these, such as on Tagfoot though it is easier to find it all in one area. This is for my benefit to have it all in one place. Those who come here, I hope you find this very beneficial. You will noticed that within my own text modules here, I have taken something from one of the experts below to show what you can do with your Squidoo lenses.

Put this code below before your text and it will look like the color and border that your see here. This color scheme was found on HTML Examples and Backgrounds

Note: Move the < next to the p style instead of the space between as shown. The code does not show up here properly as text to display.

< p style="border: solid 10px #3300cc; background:#ffff33; padding: 15px; margin: 0; text-align: justify; line-height: 23px; color: #003366; font-size: 18px">YOUR STUFF HERE

Create Great Photo Backgrounds

I'm giving credit where credit is due. I discovered how to add a photo background from Create Stunning CSS Backgrounds with Images by lensmaster DrRichard. Here he gives reference to photobucket.com It is a free photo sharing site. At Photobucket you can share photos and use them on your website, blog or lens. When you see a photo background on any of my lenses, chances are that is where it is from.

Here's the code for this photo background.

<p style="background: url(http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/uu297/sandyspider/summer-1.jpg); color: black; padding: 15px; ">

Share Your Expertise

This is only a portion of the great masters here on Squidoo who have a lens about HTML and CSS backgrounds. I do have a larger list. And if you are one that feels it is something worth sharing, place it with the Plexo above.
