Great tips, thank you. I didn't know I could find out the table of contents information that way. I kept putting in the table of contents module, copying the links, then deleting it again, LOL.

Thanks Randell, very useful stuff. I'll be back to read more closely.
I'm new to Squidoo, but not to web development.
You may be interested in my lensSnippets: a collection of code snippets and links to code resources. It's a brand-new lens so there's not much there yet- but there is a small perl script for quoting HTML/CSS and other codes. I hope you had something similar when creating the quoted sections of your lens.
BTW- you show how to extract module id's from source for making links to particular modules within or between lenses. Very handy. I've been doing the same, but a different way. In the lens TOC you can grab the module ID by right-clicking on the link and then 'Copy Link Location' I don't know which method may be more useful.. but anyway it's always good when there's more than one way to do it.
    Thanks again, Best Regards,
    Pete.

Thank you so much for the advice. I want to ask about two things - first, "what's here" isn't there! Also, is there a way to make a link to the rating stars at the bottom of the page? I think that people sometimes read to the bottom and forget to go back to the top to give me stars! At least that's what I tell myself. Or maybe they just hate my lenses.
    Thank you.

  • Randell Jun 4, 2009 @ 7:15 am | in reply to prayerhusband | delete
Yes you would have to have some web space to store the image and there are plenty of free image hosting services available, such as Flickr and Image Shack to name a few, which are very user friendly in uploading your images to their servers. Eventually you may be interested in having your own webspace to store images and maybe even your own website, I personally use and recommend Hostgator

    See why
  • prayerhusband May 6, 2009 @ 12:38 am | delete
I don't understand where the images are stored. Sorry, no web or HTML genius here. Obviously I have to have my own website, yes? So I suppose I have to go to some free website place and upload an image. Is that difficult.

I want to add a picture in the middle of the long initial text module of the following website to help reader's eye's take a bit of a break as they're reading it.

To insert a link simply just put the code into the module. There is no html editor, you have to type html code out, like any of the examples here show the full html typed out, you have to physically type the code into your module. This should help - Basic HTML

    Reply to ALA1122

In Regards to google's search boxes on Squidoo Pages; if you want to put them on a Squidoo Page, you cannot. It requires to use a form tag which is not allowed on Squidoo. If you want to put a Google search box on your own web page (not a Squidoo page), you can get the code generated for you by google or you can check out Dave Taylor's Advice. So again You cannot insert a Google Search Form into a Squidoo Page.

    Thanks
    Randell

Hi Randell. love your lens and have given you a 5 star! Hope you can help me with a html issue.

I would like to do this in a module - have a border with a colored background, specify the font size and type, insert an image from my flickr account with padding from the border and if possible make the heading in the module have a larger font than the the rest of the text. I can do all these individually but can't work out how to do them all together! Hope you can help.
