What is the Hubble, anyway?
The Hubble Space Telescope is very important in Space. It is a Space Observatory, ran by NASA and ESA. It has taken thousands of images, in visible infrared and ultraviolet light. The Hubble has taken an enormous part in the study of astronomy, by helping making new discoveries and general space research. The images received from the Hubble are very stunning, and here are some of my favorites. Something about Space really fascinates me. And the photos of Space I see make me wonder of whats out there, what are the possibilities.. it's infinite! So please, enjoy these beautiful photos of Outer Space taken by the Hubble Space Telescope!

First, Fun Facts about the Hubble!
Just some cool info!
- The Hubble Space Telescope was named after Edwin Hubble, an American astronomer who first confirmed that the universe is actually expanding.
- The Hubble was first launched on April 24, 1990. It cost 1.5 billion US dollars to do make and launch!
- It was supposed to be in use at once for 20 years, so it was supposed to come down in 2010. But it will still be in use until at least 2014.
- It is about 43 feet long, and 14 feet diameter, so it is about the size of a school bus! It weighs 11110 kg. But of course in space, it's feather weight!
- The Hubble moves at 5 miles per second around the Earth! Notice I said second, not hour. It takes 97 minutes for a complete revolution around Earth. It travels at 17500mph!
- Despite of all the crazy things it can view, The Hubble can not view Mercury, or the Sun.
- The first picture it took was a picture of Star Cluster NGC 3532, in May 1990.
- In the past 20 years, it has made over 950.000 observations, and has taken over 580,000 images of objects in space!
- In the past 20 years, it has traveled around the Earth over 115,000 times!
- After 20 years in Space, it has came up with over 45 terabytes of data! And to think, 1024 gigabytes make up 1 terabyte. that's a lot of data. Still not too sure how much that is? That's about 11,520,000 songs worth of data. Woah.
