Squidoo and Hubpages have module or capsules that the writer should fill it. Squidoo has hundreds module but hubpages just have dozen capsules. The variety of module or capsules are text, video, rss, amazon, EBay, link, poll, question, etc. Squidoo has various modules such as big link, photo, widget, talk blurb, plexo, etc. Squidoo has more sophisticated modules than hubpages.
Both squidoo and hubpages are useful for boosting our blog traffic or web traffic. Some hubber (hubpages writer) said that hubpages is better than squidoo; on the other hand, some lensmaster (squidoo writer) said that squidoo is better than me. To me, both squidoo and hubpages is same.
Even Squidoo and Hubpages are similar but they are different. Squidoo allow the lensmaster (squidoo writer) to write at any languages; Meanwhile, Hubpages just allow English content. In, Squidoo, we are free to sell it; on the other hand, hubpages forbid it so you cannot sell any hubs.

For me squidoo is better. As a non-US citizen, having my own connection with amazon is not really very practical. I'd rather get my income through paypal than by check. Also, I love squidoo's interactive modules, like this duel module.
However, I do have some hubs on hubpages.
