Who is Hudson Taylor?

James Hudson Taylor was born in 1832 in England. His friend gave him a tract and he read it and became convicted of his sin. From early on in his Christian walk, he had a burden for lost people in China even though he did not speak their language. He ended up spending 51 years in China working with the Chinese people. He was able to bring in over 800 missionaries and start 125 schools. This led to countless conversions to Christianity. He was the founder of China Inland Mission. He took 11 evangelistic trips to China before dying there in 1905. He is credited as being one of the most influential foreigners to go to China in the 19th century.

Our Hudson

We decided to name our second son Hudson after the Christian missionary to China, Hudson Taylor. I also knew a band in college named Hudson Taylor.
