"The Incredible Hulk" is no doubt an ideal version of the Hulk saga for those who found Ang Lee's "Hulk" (2003) too talky, or dare I say, too thoughtful....
Robert Ebert's Full Review

The dialogue is minimal but sharp, the pace swift and the action sequences suitably loud and brutal, Nevertheless, it's hugely entertaining, and not only leaves the door wide open for a sequel but an entire universe of Marvel movies. Avengers assemble!
Ken Fox (TV Guide) Full Review

Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) is on the run from the government just because he occasionally turns into a giant, green, insane monster. His ex-girlfriend Betty (Liv Tyler) wants to find a cure, while her dad, Gen. Ross (William Hurt), just wants to find him. The movie's a lot like the Hulk himself: big, dumb and violent-but in a good wayE! Online - Chris Farnsworth's Full Review

The Incredible Hulk Comics

The Origins

The Hulk first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #1 (May 1962). He has since become one of Marvel Comics' most recognized characters. In the first issue, the Hulk was grey rather than green, but inconsistancies in Grey Ink at the time caused the Hulk to be changed to Green for the second issue and ongoing. The Grey Hulk was brought back in 1984 flashback sets, but the Big Green continued on. The original Incredible Hulk comics, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, was cancelled after just 6 issues, but the Hulk didn't die there. The Hulk had special guest appearances throughout some of Marvels' biggest comics, including Spider man and the Fantastic Four.

The Hulk originates when Bruce Banner, a scientist on a military base, tries to save a teen who ends up on the testing field of a gamma bomb. Banner is able to save the teen by using himself as a shield, but consequently absorbs mass amounts of gamma radiation. Banner awakes in the infirmary and seems fine until later when he transforms into the HULK.

The Incredible Hulk is now one of Marvel Comics most famous Super Heroes, going on to have hundreds of comics published, a television series in the 70's and 80's, a movie simply entitled "Hulk", in 2003 and the release of "The Incredible Hulk" in May 2008.

Arch Enemies of the Incredible Hulk

  • Abomination - Featured in the Incredible Hulk Movie (2008)
Emil Blonsky, a KGB agent and spy was Born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia. Blonsky wanting to be more powerful, deliberately exposes himself to the same radiation that transformed Bruce Banner into The Hulk, but in greater quantity. Blonsky is transformed into a massive green-skinned monster, much like the hulk, but soon realizes that the increased gamma radiation prohibits him from changing back into his human form like the hulk.

  • Agamemnon
The immortal former leader of the Pantheon, and alleged descendant of a god, turned weary, bored and immensely cynical from his millennia of existence. Cyclically building and destroying civilisations as a personal hobby.

  • Bi-Beast
A giant two-headed android living on a floating island in the sky, and containing the knowledge of the bird people that built it.

  • Gamma Corps
The Gamma Corps were individuals whose lives had in some way been harmed or ruined by the Hulk who came together as a group seeking revenge on the Hulk.

  • Hulkbusters
The original Hulkbusters were a large military force consisting of both U.S. Army and Air Force personnel, whose primary purpose was to capture or if necessary, destroy the Hulk.

  • Leader
Born Samuel Sterns, worked for a chemical plant there in a menial capacity. While moving radioactive materials into an underground storage area, some of the radioactive materials exploded, bombarding Sterns with gamma radiation. He recovered, and found that the radiation had changed him from an ordinary human into a green-skinned, super-intelligent entity with an oversized brain housed in a towering cranium. Tim Blake Nelson portrays Dr. Samuel Sterns in the 2008 release, The Incredible Hulk.

  • Madman

  • Maestro
My all time favorite Hulk Villian, a barbaric and crafty future version of the Hulk. He's stated as twice as strong as the 'merged' incarnation, and is an experienced, ruthless and dishonourable combatant. Maestro killed off other great super hero's in the future such as Iron Man and Wolverine

  • Mercy

  • Thunderbolt Ross

  • John Ryker

  • Glenn Talbot

  • Tyrannus

  • U-Foes

  • Wendigo

  • Zzzax

The Incredible Hulk Original Television Series

The Incredible Hulk TV Series began as two movies which aired on CBS in 1977, and the show followed, airing from 1978 to 1982. It starred Bill Bixby as Dr. David Bruce Banner, Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk, and Jack Colvin as Jack McGee, the reporter always one step behind Banner and the Hulk. The concept was developed for television by Kenneth Johnson and differed from the comic books and original Hulk Movie in that David Banner was a scientist conducting research into Humans displaying Superhuman strength in the face of a trauma, one of which he himself could not save his wife from. The experiments lead him to exposing himself to mass amounts of gamma radition thus causing the Hulk Transformation when Banner became upset or angry.
