Wat doet het Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp?
Het Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp (kortweg Kinderhulp) komt op voor ongeveer 250.000 kinderen in Nederland die - meestal als gevolg van een ontwrichte thuissituatie - te maken krijgen met jeugdzorg. Het Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp bied hulp in de vorm van bijdragen die het kind rechtstreeks ten goede komen. Het Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp betaalt bijvoorbeeld voor een aantal gitaarlessen of een tweedehands fiets. Of ze stellen middelen beschikbaar voor een klimrek in de tuin van een tehuis of een pakje van de Sint. Zo brengt het Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp een beetje gewoon geluk in het leven van kinderen die het minder goed getroffen hebben.
En het Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp hoopt dat u ze daarbij wilt helpen...en ik ook ;)

Kinderhulp is er voor de kansarme kinderen in Nederland, kinderen van verslaafde ouders, eigenlijk alle kinderen die door allerlei verschillende redenen niet thuis kunnen wonen maar (tijdelijk) verblijven in pleeggezinnen en tehuizen.
De overheid zorgt ervoor dat deze kinderen te eten en drinken krijgen en dat ze naar school kunnen, maar geld voor iets leuks is er eigenlijk niet. Terwijl bijvoorbeeld sport en muziek ook heel belangrijk zijn. De rode ballon in het logo symboliseert niet alleen de kwetsbaarheid van kinderen in de jeugdzorg, maar ook de vrolijkheid die Kinderhulp hen biedt.
Ken je bijvoorbeeld "actie Pepernoot"? Met de actie Pepernoot doet Kinderhulp jaarlijks vele duizenden kinderen een groot plezier. De actie is ooit opgezet omdat Kinderhulp vindt dat Sinterklaas voor alle kinderen in Nederland een feest moet zijn; juíst ook voor kinderen in de jeugdzorg. Als de tehuizen of de pleegouders van deze kinderen niet genoeg geld hebben, zorgt Pepernoot ervoor dat er toch een bescheiden pakjesavond kan worden gevierd.

A wild bear taken by poachers may have less than a 60% chance of surviving the non-medical procedure to create a permanent open wound in his abdomen from which bile can be drained, twice every day. Bile that's used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
In the wild, where he's free to roam, this bear might live to 25. Instead, if he survives the non-medical procedure he may live up to 10 years kept in a tiny cage, thrashing against the bars because he's unable to move around. Under-nourished and over-stressed, he'll be forced to lie there in pain, in his own filth.
Farming bears for their bile is perfectly legal in China. And very profitable. But totally unnecessary. There are many TCM alternatives that do what bear bile is claimed to. Needless over production means an estimated 9,000 bears are tortured each day so their bile can also be used in shampoo, wine and even tea. This unwarranted procedure can be prevented with your help.
By donating £3 a month to the World Society for the Protection of Animals, you can help us free animals from cruel practices like bear farming.
