Jimmie, I'm teaching an anatomy class at our co-op and I really need some ideas for our muscles lesson on Friday. I have 21 children ages 5-9 (mostly boys), so I'm thinking something active. We read a story and did notebook pages for bones last week and that was OK, but I don't have a storybook for muscles and, like I said, I'd really like something more active this week. The class is after a phys ed class, but still. . . Any ideas????

Here's what I finally came up with:

Oh my goodness....after searching the web for lapbooks on the human body, I came across your site. I am impressed and don't need to look any further. Thanks so much for the info. I teach a science class to a couple of homeschool families and found everything I needed. Can't wait to pass on this valuable resource.

I'm embarrassed that I haven't taken more time to explore your wonderful lenses, especially the lapbooks. They are so awesome!! My daughter is on a constant quest for information and it's so hard to find trusted and age appropriate information for her to research online. I don't homeschool, but my girls attend an amazing Montessori that I am grateful for every single day. Thank you!!

We just finished a human body study ourselves. We used Usborne's Internet Linked First Encyclopedia of the Human Body, Janice Van Cleave's The Human Body for Every Kid, and The Body Book by Scholastic Professional Books. The Body Book was a great book full of reproducible models for kids to color and put together. Each model had information on that model and things to discuss. We really liked using this, maybe others would too. Blessings!
