Humanoid robots are going to be a reality in next few years. Scientists are doing there work, they are trying to make life more comfortable for a common man.Now, is still really necessary to get a humanoid robots which will not only do work of a human being but will later start thinking and acting as a human being, drawing conclusions from what has been said and done to him to how should he react to those circumstances in future. May be a humanoid will develop a ego in next few generations.
Besides this we are currently surrounded with technology, we have all the comforts at our home and in our office. Most traditionally manual works have now vanished, we are in a position to do all things without leaving our home or a room. Still we find ourselves very busy. - Well, actually technology learns from nature, it tries to imitate nature, so is the case with humanoid robots, they imitate humans and there technology (robotics) is improving day by day.
So, may be in future there act will look similar to humans, although I don't think we can use the word exactly as humans (with limited technology and know how) cannot clone nature (infinity) perfectly, they can only copy some attributes with limitations.
