This cat has been humiliated. You look, you laugh. Sure, it's funny to you, but how does the cat feel?

Cats aren't dogs. Dogs don't mind being humiliated. In fact, dogs thrive on humiliation.

But cats have pride. They detest humiliation. They ignore us or, worse, they give us that look. They shed on our best dress pants. They scratch our most expensive piece of furniture and knock over our favorite knick-knack. They invent new mischief.

Cats get even.

What must we do to get our life back after we have humiliated our cat? We must treat him as royalty. We must give him the attention that he believes, indeed that he truly knows he deserves. We must give up our bed to him and sleep on the couch. We must lavish him with love, praise, and attention. We must shower him with gifts and adoration. We must worship the very ground his four paws walk upon.

We must. He is Cat. Cat rules.
