Do the hummingbirds visit your garden?

Wonderful lens! We've had a few rufous hummingbirds around for almost a month now but they're visiting our feeders since spring is late in coming this year and there aren't many flowers yet. The salmonberry bushes are starting to bloom though and I can hear hummers buzzing around constantly. I can't wait to get some flowers going and look forward to taking pictures of the hummingbirds when they visit!

I don't know if it's the flowers or the lens itself or both but this lens is sure pretty! A hummingbird would visit your lens!

Not yet, because we are just starting from scratch again, but I hope next year, you have some great tips here, thanks so much :)

We have a trumpet vine (not sure of exact name) It is a hummingbird magnet. They are always flying about squabbling over the flowers.

I love this idea! Now if I could only GROW plants instead of killing them I'd be all set! I have such a black thumb.

Thank you for this wonderful lens. I have been wondering how to do this and you told me. Now to find one for butterflies and I will be set.

My mother used to go to a trailer park resort every summer. Her hummingbird feeders were always needing refilling. She had it attached to the cover for the livingroom window and we could sit there and watch them feed.

My MIL also had some feeders on and it was so fun to watch them feed and fight over the feeders. They would fly by so fast and they were so wonderful

I would like to eventually set up a garden, birdbath with spray and all. I love hummingbirds so much.

i love your Lenses! Yes, I do have hummingbirds visit my back yard. I made an Oasis out of my backyard so I can sit and watch them fly thru. They start coming by in July and stay till September or so. They show up every morning as soon as it is day light and come back and forth all day till 9:00pm. I am the only one in my neighbor hood that get's to experience them. But then again, I'm the only one in my neighbor hood with a small Oasis in their back yard! LOL...

I've had a couple stop by, but I've yet to capture one with my camera. I want to plant more hummingbird-friendly plants and see what happens.

We hang a hummingbird feeder, but note that the hummingbirds like to suckle from the Weeping Pea tree's yellow blossoms, the Honeysuckle Vine, the Purple Clematis Vine and the several hanging baskets of Fuchsia, and Red Verbenas. Our neighbor has beautiful vibrant orange Trumpet Vines and these the hummingbirds love very much.

Love this lens! Very informational and I've added it to my "backyard habitats". Thanks!

Love hummingbirds! I really enjoyed this lens and learning more about the flowers they like. I live in Ky and we hang a few feeders out and I have some petunias close by but for the most part, we have quite a few hummers just from the feeders. Fav this lens and rolling over to my hummer lens too.

Lucky for me - Yes! I have been planting their favorites in my garden for years and it never ceases to be a delight to see them! Great lens!

This is lovely, I only wish I could see wild hummingbirds in my garden. But I very much enjoyed the colourful lens.

Yes, but not regularly. One year I planted a lovely climbing vine with red flowers and a hummingbird loved it! The next year though the flowers didn't appear and neither did the hummer. But I keep trying, and thanks for the hints here!

I started to see a few hummingbirds at the end of last summer. This year I'm going to take your advice and work on making my garden more attractive for hummingbirds. Thanks for some great ideas.

I love all the birds, but hummingbirds are almost magical. When I spot one I try to follow it 'round the garden, and once in awhile I see one stop flying to perch on a tiny branch. I love your feeder and trellis suggestions ... great garden decor to please humans and hummers. Linked to my bird photo lens ... and faved.

What a gorgeous lens! I love hummingbirds and my hanging pink fuschias draw them every summer.

A cherished memory of my mother-in-law is her beautiful flowers and the fact that you could sit on her back porch and watch the hummingbirds come to the feeders within five feet of you. She had a green thumb and a hummingbird thumb, too, it seems. :)

What a lovely and informative article on planting a hummingbird garden! Wonderful information and presented in such a colorful and pleasing way!

Yes, but each year, in the spring and summer, I look for feeders that will look pretty in our garden. But my search is often rewarded with the same designs. Thanks for featuring some here. I visited one of the sites and will follow up when I get back home.

Beautiful lens! I planted some wildflowers that are suppose to attract hummingbirds. I'm crossing my fingers that I will get something. Blessed by an Angel and lensrolling to my nature study- hummingbirds lens.

Wonderful. I would love to have hummingbirds visit my garden, but that's quite unlikely here in London. I always enjoy watching them feed when I travel to other parts of the world, though.

Yes, humming birds visit my garden year-round. I keep a feeder going year-round for the few that don't migrate. I live on the Mendocino Coast in Northern California. They are so beautiful to watch. My cats love to watch them (all indoor only cats for their safety and the safety of the birds). Excellent job. Bear hugs, Frankie

Absolutely beautiful lens and images! I love being in my backyard & watching the hummers. Sometimes they'll check me out too, by buzzing within inches of my face or hovering just in front of me. Might be my red hair making them curious?

Beautiful lens! Thanks and lensrolled you back. :-)

We get so excited each spring waiting for the first hummingbird and then it is celebration time. Lensrolling to my Dogwoods and Azaleas, Fall Flowers and Country Diary lenses.

Love Hummingbirds, love the lens, like always! I'm re-doing my garden this year and will add more red flowers. We already get lots of hummingbirds and they go for the Rosemary that is all over our hills.

Your lenses are so beautiful with their pictures and layouts! My daughter created a butterfly garden in one area of the yard. We'll have to create a hummingbird section, too. :)

We are lucky to have hummingbirds visit us every year! We have tall red flowers in our front yard called "Crocosmia - Red Lucifer", they love the bright red flowers and we often have 2 of them flitting around and resting on the branches! They are beautiful and amazing little birds!

Thanks for the great lens Elizabeth!
