Louis Dvoretzky - The Master of Nonsense

Author and Humorist, Louis Dvoretzky, has written three books that twist, tease, taunt and stretch ones perception, sense of humor, notions of absurdity, and overall comprehension of language.

If you are a fan of puns, quips, tongue twisters, mind teasers, wordplay, or just good old-fashioned, corny nonsense, these books are for you!   WWW.LOUISDVORETZKY.COM

'OXYGENATED MORONS'

Book Description:
Random nonsense, including cleverisms, stupidisms and whizdumbs for careless intellectual whizbangs. Full of mental challenges, quirky thoughts presented in one-liners, short paragraphs, quick conversations, Q&A's, puns, oxymora, fractured English and ironic quips and slips of the tongue.

About The Author:
LOUIS DVORETZKY, a senior native of Houston, Texas, is an alumnus of Rice University, Yale University and the University of Montpellier, France. His academic background included French and comparative literature. Some of his humorous work has appeared in newspapers and business publications. His books are a celebration of the richness of our language. Full of both simple and hard to understand expressions, they symbolize the nonsensical aspects of our lives, while provoking thoughtful attempts to make sense out of nonsense. With "punful" delight and pain, one might be best advised to limit consumption to several items per day, though the adventuresome may certainly go for higher limits of the clever, the wise and the crazy.

'SOBERING INEBRIATIONS' - From BookReview.com (Madison, WI United States)

Being intentionally "punny" is a talent that takes years to fine tune. Louis Dvoretzky has done it. In his new book "Sobering Inebriation," he offers a second look at random nonsense. Each page is like visiting a wacky uncle who is never at a loss for something to say. There's one in every family and now you can get the feel of those visits in book form.

The author touches on every topic imaginable, from bird flu to the fine print in insurance policies, and from gurus to the president. Nothing is sacred in his attempts at humor, plays on words, and attacks on good taste. It is a hysterical book - not historical, and no it isn't running away screaming down the street. (This is the way you start to think after spending some time with the book!)

This isn't a sit down to read for hours book. I daresay one might take leave of their senses if it were so. I did it so that I could offer my opinion here and my opinion is this: taken in small doses, like those visits with your wacky uncle, "Sobering Inebriation" is an entertaining read. It would make a wonderful "throne" companion, and the perfect choice for some light reading while cooking. One might even wish to purchase an extra copy to give as an un-birthday gift to that special someone.

I am delighted to recommend this book to anyone wishing to delve into "cleverisms, stupidisms, and whizdums." It's pure fun in that oh-my-gosh-I-can't-believe-I-laughed-at-that way.

'OXYGENATED MORONS' - from a review by Heather Froeschl (Callaway, Virginia)

"Oxygenated Morons" is labeled as a book of random nonsense, and I heartily agree... Full of mental challenges, quirky thoughts and slap-upside-the-head one-liners, this book would make for...A good gift for the pun thrower in your family (and we all have one) "Oxygenated Morons" is an interesting read. At times I felt that I was trapped in Alice's Wonderland and was reminded of this being said, "If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?" And also, the Mock Turtle in that works, saying this, "We called him Tortoise because he taught us."
