Laughing worries away

I had a rare visitor the other day. She was pouring out her sorrowful incidents one after the other that had taken place in the preceding months and asked for my advice as a trusted and elderly friend. It was getting too much and I tried my best to be of moral support and counsel. I drew her attention to the comedy movies and mentioned some. The idea seemed to work as we slowly went into some of the comedy movies that we both enjoyed together. It so happened that she was so engrossed in the conversation that the she was already late by an hour. My friend left with a light heart and a smile. She even thanked me for making the day brighter for her.
Yes, humour really heals, temporarity though, it makes people strong enough to face the vagaries of life.
