- This was such a fun read. I was a devil last year; I don't know what I'll be this year yet. My little nephew says that he wants to be a fire engine for Halloween, that his little brother should be a fireman, and that I should be the water. :-)

- I like the punny and wordplay costumes. One year I attached Smarties candies all over my trousers and wore a Mensa t-shirt and my college mortarboard with a Smarties candy tassel: Mr. SmartiePants!

- I love the "play on words" type of costume. One year I dressed up as a "Fairy Goth Mother". I carried a "cabbage patch" doll with a cloth head. I put a small safety pin thru its nose and carried it around. Of course, I dressed in black and had a funky wig on.
