Hundred for Halloween Lensmaking Challenge

This lens is to recognize the achievements of the Hundred for Halloween Challenge

First, a little bit of background.  Back in August, the Squidoo HQ put out a challenge to lensmasters to build enough lenses to qualify for "Giant Squid" Status.  When the challenge began it was 100 lenses.  Now a lot of people found that VERY daunting, and impossible to imagine.  After a little consideration, Squidoo HQ revised the goal down to 50 lenses (but they had to be GOOD lenses, not spamming stuff).

So we're all building and editing and tweaking like crazy during August.

In early September the email went out announcing who had earned Giant Squid status.  I was one of the lucky ones who made it!

But I didn't want to give up on the goal of having 100 lenses, so I decided on September 20th to start a 100 for Halloween challenge in the eBay Users forum over in Squidu.

I'm creating this lens to showcase the hard work of all of our winners for the Hundred for Halloween challenge.  Each successful Lensmaster will have a section dedicated to them, and their Lensographies (either Bio Page or Lensography lens if they have one) will be added to the Link List.  Hopefully we'll have a lot of Lensmasters to showcase for you here.

Setting goals like this in your Squidooing gives you a target to aim for, a way to pace yourself, and a fun way to learn a lot about your fellow lensmasters! Why don't you organize your own Lensbuilding Challenge?

Our first successful lensmaster is awelldressedbullet

Kathy hails from Spanish, Ontario, Canada and has an unique line of products, to say the least! I'll let you visit her eBay Store to learn more about her products. Kathy was already up to 116 lenses by October 15th - so she was WAY ahead of schedule, who knows where she'll end up by the Halloween deadline!

Kathy is also in charge of "The List" - lenses dedicated to lenses created by eBayers, and especially active members in the eBay Users forum over on Squidu.

Kudos to Kathy - and keep up the good work!

Our next successful lensmaster is Lady_Gotrocks

A gem dealer from Connecticut, these are some of the most amazing lenses about gems I've ever seen - the pictures alone are enough to make your eyes pop, but she also provides some of the most educational lenses about gemstones that you'll ever find. Check out her eBay listings below to get an idea of how amazing her pictures are!

These are great resources for anyone who deals with jewelry or other items that would have gems in them.

She's done lenses on other topics too, of course, but you just HAVE to see one of her gemstone lenses to understand what a "gem" of a lensmaster she is. You can also visit her eBay store to see the variety of inventory she carries.

Next is yours truly, Katiyana!

I'm Stephanie, from Lincoln, Nebraska, and I got my 100th lens created on October 15th. It was my friendly lens buidling competition during the Giant Squid challenge that gave me the idea to start this challenge in the first place. It would have looked funny if I wasn't successful in my own challenge!!

My product lines are handmade doll clothes and handmade bear clothes, as well as trading card supplies. I used to sell Pokemon trading cards, and I'll still have a lot of lenses on that topic, even though I'm phasing out that part of my business.

Please visit my eBay Store to see more.

Our next winner is RMS!

RMS is a writer - not a seller - and her lensography shows her variety of lenses and her talents as a writer! The contest was held in the ebay Users forum but I didn't require you to be an eBay seller to participate.

So we've sort of adopted RMS into our forum, and congrats on making the goal!!

Next successful lensmaster is GypsyPirate!

Gypsy also has a wide variety of lenses covering a number of topics. You can tell she's got a wide range of interests by looking at her Lensography!

She doesn't have a SquidBids lens, so I dont know if she sells on eBay or not - she might be another one of those strays that we adopted into the forum. :)

Next on the list is 4deb!

Another user with diverse interests, 4deb successfully completed the challenge as well!

Very cool! I'm working hard on building up my lenses to 100, as well. So far I have 66 featured lenses and quite a few that are still in draft mode. You guys are inspiring me!

As you can see - the challenge has warped a few of our brain cells beyond the ability to function. But being addicted to Squidoo will do that to you!!
