Singer J. Loren goes so far to say that Hurt's music has the power to save lives: "I know that's not unfounded, because people have written to the band and told me that." And it's saved his life-"I'm compelled to do it. I have no other functionality in this life," he states unequivocally. His goals for the band are equally forthright: "I want to invoke feeling. Period. If listeners feel good, if it compels them to tears If all you can think about is a song for five minutes at a time, I'm happy to be that distraction. I've wasted my whole life to be that."

Vol. 1 is the third album by HURT

Hurt released Vol.1 on March 21, 2006

This album contains many tracks that are very dark in nature, and explain such suggestions as twisted logic from over-obsession in religion in "Rapture", pain from love in both "Falls Apart" and "Unkind", and drug addiction in "Overdose".

This album was released with two different packages. One was the standard jewel case, and the other a cardboard folding case, featuring a few more pieces of artwork inside, and a red bookmark attached to the case. Both pressings, however, contain the exact same song material.

Vol. II is the fourth album by HURT

Released on September 25, 2007

Released shortly after Vol. I, this album still shares the sorrowful and painful themes as Vol. I. However, many songs on this album have slower tempos and more acoustics set throughout the album, while still maintaining it's hard rock sound. Another change from Vol. I was the inclusion of many different instruments, such as the banjo and dobro, and a lineup of female backup singers.

Many of the songs on this album were redone songs from previous works. The songs "Summers Lost," "Abuse Of SID," and "Better" were all from this bands first release. "Alone With the Sea," "Loded," and "Et Al" were all on The Consumation. All of these songs were drastically changed from their original release.

"Loded," the band's second single, was chosen by a poll taken on the band's forum.

    Well put together lens this one, will definitely have to check out more by the band. :) (just thought I'd let you know that the tour dates on here are from summer 2008 though; I'm sure there are a few of my lenses where I've got things like that too and just thought I'd point it out to you)
