This story is about my dear friend and co-worker. Her husband left her after 23 years of marriage, for her best friend. Coincidentally, her friend lived down the street from her. They had two children together, both grown. He said he didn't love her anymore. He could have told her that, two years prior, when he started cheating. My friend took it extremely hard. She even tried to set her house on fire. After serious counseling and reuniting with a high school sweetheart, she was able to get on with her life. They moved to Arizona and lived happily ever after. At least, that's what she tells me. The woman he was cheating with, cheated on him.

My sister had a good life. She and her husband were planning their retirement. Her son was all grown up, married, with a child of his own. She never seen this coming. She got up one morning, went to do her volunteer work, and came home to a note. After 25 years of marriage, all he gave her was a note. He told her he cleaned out all the accounts, froze up all credit cards, and he hoped she would find somebody to love. He told her not to call him, and gave his lawyer's name. That very same morning, he had given her a kiss goodbye, told her to get steaks out for supper. The night before he was making plans for remodeling their home. How's that for a surprise? This couple was married for 24 years. She suffered from MS complications. Her husband (working in skilled trades) met a blond bombshell working in a department store. They carried on an affair for 2 years before his wife caught them. The husband moved in with his mistress for 5 years, then got married to her. During this time he was ordered to pay $350.00 weekly spousal support, plus, health care for 10 years. His wife got everything except his clothes and truck. Husband's cheat for a variety of reasons. One reason might be they're getting positive attention from other women. Attention that they're not getting at home. This kind of attention makes a man feel like he's wanted and still desirable. Another reason, a man might crave sexual attention from another woman. If a husband and wife are no longer having sexual relations, then the husband will fulfill his needs elsewhere. In instances. where a husband has friends who cheat, this might encourage him to do the same. He might think, if his friends are good guys, but they're cheating on their wives, then maybe it's not so wrong after all. A husband might also have a coworker who shows him a lot of attention. She talks to him and shows more compassion and understanding than a wife does. This might develop into an emotional relationship, and therefore result in an affair. Husbands also cheat with younger women to make themselves feel younger. They feel like they are regaining part of their youth. They like the spontanaiety and excitement, that they don't get with their wives anymore.
