Husqvarna Backpack Blower
Husqvarna makes a darn good gas powered leaf blower.
As the owner of a lawn care business in North Florida, I use my Husqvarna backpack blower just about every day of the year.
On some days I use that back pack blower for hours on end. One thing is for sure, the leaf blowers I use have to be dependable and provide a good bit of power to do the type of work that I do.
Most of us know how good Husqvarna chainsaws and mowers are, but do you ever hear anything about the Husqvarna leaf blower? Most people talk about the Echo blowers or the Stihl blowers when they talk about blowers at all. So let me be the first to tell you, the Husqvarna blower can hold it's own against the big boys.
Why I Use The Husqvarna 350BT
At one time, all I wanted out of my leaf blower was power. The more powerful the leaf blower, the the more I liked it.
An Echo backpack blower was my blower of choice. Echo claims to have the most powerful backpack blowers on the market and that is what I wanted. What I did not want was to have to replace them every year.
Unfortunately, that is exactly what I had to do. Those powerful Echo back pack blowers only lasted me a year or so before they would break. At about $500.00 a pop, the Echo back pack blower was a bit too costly for me to replace that often.
Safety First
Husqvarna VS Echo
To be fair, I was told that it was my fault that my Echo backpack blowers crapped out on me so fast. I was informed by my Echo technician that I was not mixing the leaf blower gas with the proper amount of Echo 2 cycle engine oil. Thus causing the piston in my blower to burn up prematurely.
That may be true. The Echo blower may be a perfectly good blower. And who knows, after ten years of working with lawn equipment, I may just not be smart enough to mix the proper ratio of oil to gas to keep the piston from burning up.
It very well could have been my fault that those Echo blowers burnt up so fast. I did my best to get oil to gas ratio right and I still burnt up four of those bad boys.
If that was the case, I thought it best to find a low priced leaf blower to cook instead of an expensive one. If I was going to burn it up, at least it wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg to replace. Maybe just an arm or a leg. But not both.
That is when I decided to buy the Husqvarna 350BT residential back pack leaf blower. Priced at only $300.00, this powerful little backpack blower can get the job done.
Pros and Cons of The Husqvarna 350BT
When I bought my Husqvarna 350BT, it was already put together for me. The shop that sold it to me even filled up my leaf blower with a full tank of gas. Just like when you buy a brand new car. I love it when they do that.
Right off the bat, I liked this back pack blower. From top to bottom, this thing screams quality. The grab handle at the top is good and strong. I hang mine from a locking hook on the side of my work trailer. It has bounced on that hook for over a year now and it is still as good as new.
The chest straps are comfortable and easy to adjust. The 350BT I bought came with the additional abdominal safety belt. I am sure that it is good for something, but for me it was bit of a nuisance, so I took it off.
The air filter on the Husqvarna 350BT is a reusable foam filter. Unlike some leaf blowers with a paper filter that you have to replace every couple of months at $12 bucks a pop. All you have to do is open the breather case, remove the filter. Wash it. Hit it with a splash of filter oil and put it back in.
The spark plug is easy to get to but it is a bit of a pain to find a new one when you have to replace it. They use a Husqvarna chainsaw spark plug for most of their blowers. It is very small and not sold at most stores. It is the Husqvarna Husqvarna 531300688 Spark Plug. Get an extra one now and save it for later.
My Husqvarna leaf blower has done all of the hard work I have asked it to do for just over a year now and it is still running strong. Granted, this leaf blower is listed as a residential blower, but it has done nothing but commercial leaf blower work since I got it. My review of this leaf blower can not tell you how happy I am with this piece of equipment. I would recommend it to anyone.
