What is Hydroponics

How to grow plants and vegetables with Hydroponics.

Hydroponicsmeaning the study of agriculture. Hydroponics is growing plants without the aid of soil. Hydroponics can be used to grow most plants.

When you think of gardening you plant your vegetables in the soil which feeds the plant. Hydroponics gardening differs in the way that you do not need soil for the plants to grow this is replaced with a nutrient rich solution that the plant absorbs naturally. The ease that the plant absorbs the solution means it saves energy which allows the plant to grow stronger. The energy that the plants save helps them to outperform conventionally produced plants in fruit production and growth. It is also possible to produce excellent and inexpensive vegetables and herbs using specially designed organic nutrients.

You can purchase several types of hydroponics systems. Three such systems are Water Culture, Aquaculture and Nutriculture. These are all Hydroponics systems where the roots of the plant are immersed in water containing a mixture of dissolved nutrients.

Another system you can use is Aggregate Culture. This involves the use of materials such as Marbles, Gravel and Sand these support the roots of the plant. The most commonly used commercial system is continuous flow hydroponics. This is where the nutrient solution flows constantly over the plants roots. The Aeroponics system is where the plant roots hang in the air and are regularly misted with a nutrient solution.

You can purchase pre packaged Hydroponics systems from beginner up to commercial grower. People new to hydroponics gardening should consider investing in one of these kits they will help you get started. If you need anymore help just click the image below.
