- Hydro powe does seem like a viable alterante source of power. I ope it materializes for more people so we can stay away from depleting resources

- I know wind energy is different than water energy, but I live in a very rural area and have built a diy wind turbine in my backyard. It's not overly big, but it generates enough power to cut my electric bills in half. Definitely worth it and I have already seen a return on the investment. If you can do it and have the room, go for it.

- I am currently designing a system to provide back up power during times of electrical outages. I have a seasonal creek that flows in the winter. Thanks for the tips.

- Hey nice lens. i have read them all. there are many ways to cut the reliance in fossil energy or nuclear energy. we just need the government efforts and the acceptance of all the people that alternative energy is not just a must, it is also an obligation to our earth, to our next generation. see my site on how i promote alternative energy in fun way.. http://www.QuestionAuthoriTees.com

- Nice lens! I'm an alternate energy afficianado.... And your hydropower lens is a fantastic resource for those wanting "streaming energy" .... I'd like to link to your lens from my Alternate Energy Sources Lens. With a good combo of all the other alternate energy sources out there, we can beat the dependence on oil! Definitely a 5* lens!

- I am buying property in the Pacific NW where solar is not a viable energy source, but water sure is! I am setting up multiple turbines from small dams on my own stream, to generate power 24/7.
