in which my drawings are showcased

Cartoony arts by little old amateur me, both original and fanart.

Subjects include some same-sex kissing and some small amounts of blood, but nothing too questionable, so if you're not okay with that go elsewhere.

Some of these images are for sale one way or another, but more on that here.

Table of Contents

Fairies

Yeah, nothing much to add, it's just some fairies. Their names are Anna, Em, Lil, Peg and Trixie.

I seem to be on a cutesy-wutesy kick...

Mermaids

They're called Betty, Cassie and Molly for no particular reason.

Bad/Good

Shoulder angels!

A Sorta Fairytale

Title from a Tori Amos song...

Another Girl's Paradise

The title is from a Tori Amos song...

The Barbarian

Doodled on note paper during class...

Dance of the Dead

Inspired by a fanfiction by Amazon Syren, but really has very little to do with it and works on its own, don't you think?

St. Lucy

Santa Lucia, the bringer of light.

Dedicated to Nyani-Lisha Martin.

Showgirl

Commission for Powee, so DO NOT USE - it's only here for your viewing pleasure.

The Green Lady

Vaguely based my college friend Katja.

Hyel and Mari watch Tetsuo: Iron Man

Just a little visual review.

This was years ago... I'd like to see that crazy film again.

White Cliffs of Dover

Sort of inspired by the Decemberists song 'We Both Go Down Together'. What if his "tattooed tramp" wasn't all that ready to die with her slightly deranged upper class lover?

Target Marketing

It's so true and you know it.

Charles Darwin Was a Sexy Beast

Smart, too.

I Think You're Just a Frog

In which the Little Red Ridinghood grew up, and she's not falling for the Frog Prince's line.

Hanging Around

I have no story to go with this. I should probably colour it, though, to make her stand out more from the background.

Lasses

Yep. Just a random bit of cheesecake. The pose was taken from a photo I saw online - unfortunately I can't find out who that was by, as this was some time ago. If it was you, let me know and I'll credit you for it!

Here Comes the Sun

Dedicated to Nyani-lisha Martin, like most of my holiday images.

Mona

Nothing much to say about this. She was my pirate RPG character (7th Sea).

Rose Garden

Sort of inspired by The Secret Garden, and how Mary might feel upon returning to it after growing up.

Rose Garden - sepia version

As above, now with less colour...

Topsy and Turvy

Done in class... I think this qualifies as my largest classroom "doodle" yet. Drawing while listening is a lifetime habit for me.

She's Topsy, the well-dressed gent is Turvy. The fairy she calls Mr Jingles, and the troll-cat creature has no name I know of, but I think he's having terminal trouble with his marriage.

The Man Series #1

I started this as an attempt to draw more males, as I was on a females-only kick at the time, but stopped after three, and never even liked the third one. Perhaps I'll continue it at some point, though - the idea being different male physiques in strong black/white lighting.

The Man Series #2

I like this one much better than Man Series #1 - that is to say, I think it's better art.

I kinda loathe muscled bodies and have never been able to understand why they're the beauty standard. Not that this fellow's an Adonis either. Keep it to a happy medium, guys!

Flower Impression

A nymph in hiding. See? See? I'm so clever.

Thief of Children

The Fairy Queen about to steal a Christian child... Titania and Hamnet, perhaps?

Dragon and Princess

Requested by Sharakael ("dragon and princess who get along with each other", I think was the idea).

Fascist Youth

Commission, so DO NOT USE - for your viewing pleasure only!

Wings and Forest

Yeah. I got nothing. It's just something I felt like drawing. The winged man was for Jes Idres, the rest just happened.

Two Ladies

...Passing letters rather openly-secretly. I wonder what they say?

Triggered Memories

Again this is a piece that has little to do with the original, though it was inspired by a fanfic.

Caonasir

A commission, so for your viewing only; do not use!

Saltwater Taffy

Strawberry Shortcake (c) American Greetings.

This creepy creature was thought up and the drawing commissioned by Chris Willmore, based on the Strawberry Shortcake franchise.

Adorable, eh?

Harlot Rose

I'm not listing this as fanart because it's so far from the original, but this actually started as illustration for a WWI Lord of the Rings AU where Rosie Cotton is a harlot and Sam and Frodo her adoring customers... Yeah.

The New Day Is a Great Big Fish

The saying this was inspired by is from Terry Pratchett's Monstrous Regiment.

Fanart: Aubreyad: The Obligatory Snake Scene

The Aubrey/Maturin novels (c) Patrick O'Brian.

Stephen Maturin, a snake and Jack Aubrey in a scene from one of the books (forget which...) as ducks.

I did this by request before I'd learned to draw Jack and Stephen as themselves, and duckification is my way out of these things.

Fanart: Aubreyad: Stephen's Heart

The Aubrey/Maturin novels (c) Patrick O'Brian.

Done for a request on Perfect Duet - a moment from before the two had got used to each other's little ways.

Fanart: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Slayer

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (c) Joss Whedon & Mutant Enemy.

This is second-season Buffy, more or less - at least that's the season I was watching when I drew this, and it's based on Sarah Michelle Gellar's baby-face, so to speak.

Fanart: Discworld: Vimes and his Watchmonsters

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett.

Vimes and some of his more special watchmen: Reg Shoe, Sally and Angua.

Originally drawn for the Yuletart art exchange.

Fanart: Discworld: Susan Death

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett.

Everyone's favourite half-human, half-Death hybrid...

Fanart: Discworld: Jack/Queen of Spades

Monstrous Regiment (c) Terry Pratchett.

Maladict/a.

Fanart: Discworld: Jack/Queen of Clubs

Monstrous Regiment (c) Terry Pratchett.

Polly Perks.

Fanart: Discworld: Jack/Queen of Diamonds

Monstrous Regiment (c) Terry Pratchett.

Lofty and Tonker. Their outfits were inspired by (well, aside from the card, of course) the fanfiction of Amazon Syren, who wrote them as bandits, post-book.

Fanart: Discworld: Jack/Queen of Hearts

Monstrous Regiment (c) Terry Pratchett.

Wazzer and the Duchess.

Fanart: Discworld: Defrocked

Monstrous Regiment (c) Terry Pratchett.

Young Froc and Jackrum.

Fanart: Discworld: Me and This Army

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett.

In the scene this is based on it was actually William de Worde they caught with his pants down, but I didn't check before drawing. D'oh.

Fanart: Discworld: Monstrous Regiment poster

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett.

This was based, for no particular reason, on the cover of the Dogville DVD. I happened to be working at a video rental at the time and it was quiet.

Fanart: Discworld: Polly/Mal

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett.

Nothing much to add. Another non-canonical pairing I like. What can I say? They had such chemistry in the original.

Fanart: Discworld: Plogviehze, Baby

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett.

Based on Latin Doll's fan-novel by the same name, itself based on Monstrous Regiment... Polly Perks is about to die, and Maladict decides she shouldn't. Much gender-confused vampiric angst ensues.

LOVE the title of the fic, which is why I appropriated it for the illustration.

Fanart: Discworld: The One C

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett.

Maladicta again.

Fanart: Discworld: Wazzer design

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett.

My design for Wazzer from Monstrous Regiment.

You may have noticed I rather liked that book.

Fanart: Discworld/Lord of the Rings: They Fight Crime!

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett, Lord of the Rings (c) J.R.R. Tolkien.

No villain can stand up to... Deathgirl and Magnifiboy! Otherwise known as Susan and Merry.

This was done as a part of a cross-fandom challenge. ...I had fun.

Fanart: Discworld: Jackrum and William

Discworld (c) Terry Pratchett.

Young Jackrum with William.

Fanart: Harry Potter: Miserable, Moaping, Moaning...

Harry Potter (c) J.K. Rowling.

...Myrtle!

I'm not a huge HP fan, but it did have a very drawable cast.

Fanart: Lord of the Rings: Rosie and the Entwife

Lord of the Rings (c) J.R.R. Tolkien.

It was mentioned in the unpublished epilogue to LotR, or rather only published later in the History of Middle-Earth volumes, that Sam's daughter Rose went looking for entwives in the Shire forests. What if her mother, as a young child, had already found them?

This was inspired by a fanfic idea of Tiamat's Child's, which as I understand never came to fruition.

Fanart: Lord of the Rings: Rosie/Pervinca smooch

Lord of the Rings (c) J.R.R. Tolkien.

Drawn by request of Ruby Nye.

Rosie's Rosie Cotton, who goes on to marry Sam, and Pervinca is Pippin's sister who we only know from the family trees. Small character femslash is much more fun than you'd think.

Pose based on this awesome picture by Mirko Ilic. Nothing symbolic intended by replacing the scales with a sword...

Fanart: Lord of the Rings/Mulan: Soldiergirls and Sidekicks

Lord of the Rings (c) J.R.R. Tolkien, this version of Mulan (c) Disney.

Mulan, Mushu, Merry and Éowyn.

There's not much point to this... I do remember there was a crossover challenge I did it for, but can't remember which community or person prompted it!

Fanart: Mulan: Not a Princess

This version of Mulan (c) Disney.

I have inexplicable affection for that movie; but then I tend to like cross-dressed female warriors. I always liked Mulan's boy-look, so here you go: Ping.

Fanart: Pirates!: Minerva and Nancy

Pirates! (c) Celia Rees.

I enjoyed that novel much more than I should have, probably. Recommended for anyone who likes a good pirate girl yarn!

Fanart: Pirates!: Minerva and Nancy - sepia version

Pirates! (c) Celia Rees

And another version. It's kind of absurd to make an "old photo" type drawing set in an era before cameras, but heck, I just like sepia.

Fanart: Pirates of the Caribbean: Come to Tia

Pirates of the Caribbean (c) Gore Verbinski and Disney.

Random pairing, but eh.

Fanart: Pirates of the Caribbean: You Owe Me a Ship

Pirates of the Caribbean (c) Gore Verbinski & Disney.

Originally drawn for a prompt, the request being "Jack/Anamaria bodiceripper".

Fanart: Wicked: Elphie Won't Share

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (c) Gregory Maguire.

The book Elphaba is reading here is called Maunt O'Quim, or, the Adventures of a Reluctant Devotee. Yep, she's got porn and she ain't sharing.

My fanart tends to be kind of random.

Fanart: Wicked: The Kiss, Wicked style

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (c) Gregory Maguire.

Pose based on the famous photo by Tanya Chalkin.

I'm sneakily selling a b/w version of this on Zazzle. It's not a copyright violation when you can't tell the source, I figure...
