Nike Hyperdunk 2015 Sneakers
From Movie Prop to Reality
Where "Back to the Future" meets the present
2015 isn't far away, and we still don't have hoverboards. However, leave it to Nike to re-create the next coolest prop from Back to the Future II: no, not the self-drying jacket -- but the futuristic shoes worn by main character Marty McFly.Dubbed the Nike Hyperdunk 2015's, and also known as the McFly 2015's: these futuristic hi-tops are modeled almost exactly to those seen in the movie (unfortunately, they don't auto-fasten themselves).
About the Hyperdunk 2015's
Marty McFly would be proud

Through a licensing agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group, designer Eric Avar created a new concept for these top-quality basketball shoes. The line of Hyperdunk sneakers was originally introduced in April 2008 when worn by Nike-sponsored basketball icon Kobe Bryant, and hits stores on July 27th, 2008. Amongst the shoe line are the 2015s.
The shoe itself is adorned with various references to Back to the Future II: for instance, inside the shoe are graphics representing Marty's hoverboard. The right shoe tongue displays the "2015" logo, as the left shoe tongue has the forward/backward arrow logo from the movie title. A whole slew of other film-inspired references are included, in which Nike hopes the customer will search for and find on their own!
The Hyperdunk 2015 sneakers themselves were modeled as close as possible to the movie version, with slate-gray and powder blue accents. While the side panels don't light up in blue neon like they did in the movie - they do glow in the dark to give the same effect!

Self-Lacing Nike Shoes
Is Nike Creating the Real Thing?
The biggest buzz in the sneaker world came in September 2011, when a patent diagram from Nike showed a concept for the self-lacing shoes that we saw Marty McFly wear in Back to the Future II. Speculation increased about Nike actually making the actual shoe that was seen in the movie, but only time will tell what the company will officially announce.
