All about hyperlinks

Okay I can't believe I've actually started writing about hyperlinks. I must be really bored. Anyway, hyperlinks are the little blue text that you can click on pages on the internet that will magically take you to another page on the internet. The entire web is probably all linked up this way, although I think there are many broken links as well. This is due to link rot, which happens over time. Links will become broken, irrelevant or outdated.

Hyperlinking is a way one page can point to another page for relevant information. This allows a user to find the things he needs quickly and effectively.

Some quick trivia about links:

1. They can be images, text or buttons
2. They make your mouse cursor turn into a pointy hand from an arrow.
3. They will take your browser to another page when clicked. Sometimes to another section on the same page too.
4. Pages without them are DEAD ENDS!

So if hyperlinking is so important, maybe you should read up on url shortening and ip addresses.
