This operation is an Arthroereisis procedure. The hyprocure stent is the device which offers the best anatomical fit over other devices.
INDICATIONS FOR THE OPERATION
The operation may be performed for :
Flexible flatfoot
Arch/ligament/tendon strain due to hyperpronation
WHAT ARE THE ANAESTHETIC OPTIONS?

ABOUT THE OPERATION
The operation is a minimally invasive procedure and hence is performed through a small incision on the outside of the foot.
There is no need for plaster immobilisation after the operation and you should be able to walk on your foot in the first couple of days. It is not uncommon for your gait to be different due the stent and this may take a while before you walk normally.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF THE OPERATION
Infection
Painful scar
Altered gait
Chronic pain
Inability to tolerate the stent necessitating removal
Displacement of stent
WHAT ARE THE OTHER OPTIONS
Do nothing
Use analgesics
Use orthotic insoles
Other surgical procedures.
