Hypnosis CAN Help!
How many times have we heard the tale of woe about the individual who went to get hypnotic help to stop smoking or over-eating, but sadly failed completely in their attempt, even after several long and drawn out efforts to try again and again. Why is that, if hypnosis has this mysterious ability to control minds and make others do our bidding?
Hypnosis in Marketing
Here's a new way you need to start thinking about hypnotism. It's easy, it's fun, and it's all around you all the time. Hypnosis is everywhere. It is not something to be afraid of, or amazed by, or thought of as confusing or complicated. It is all around you.
The Pioneers of Hypnosis
There are thousands of people who have contributed to the advancement of hypnotism. Those who are recognized by the scientific community are the ones who took a more scientific approach. However, there are others whose contributions also deserve places in history.
Hypnosis Pioneers: Franz Anton Mesmer
Mesmer is probably the most famous name in the entire history of hypnosis, even though he never heard of the art or the science by that name.
Hypnosis Pioneers: Father Gassner
Father Gassner, a Catholic priest, was contemporary with Mesmer, and was also very active in hypnosis. He apparently worked briefly with Mesmer, according to at least one historian. Gassner mastered the art of suggestion as a means of faith healing and was perhaps of the modern faith healers.
Hypnosis Pioneers: John Elliotson
John Elliotson, born in 1791, was a professor of theory and practice at University Hospital in London, England. He became interested in magnetism through Richard Chenevix, a student of Faria's, and learned it from Baron de Potet.
Hypnosis Pioneers: James Braid
James Braid (1795-1860), a prominent Scottish surgeon, is most famous for coining the word "hypnosis" (derived from the Greek word hypnos, meaning sleep). His work helped advance hypnosis greatly, as he was the first man to be recognized for scientific experimentation into the "whys" of mesmerism.
The Importance of Rapport in Hypnosis
Rapport is the glue that binds friendship, it is the chemistry of love and, most importantly, it is the easy to learn, fascinating area of communication excellence that is going to turn you into a confident, competent and extremely successful hypnotist!
A Brief History of Hypnosis
In one form or another, hypnosis has existed since the beginning of time.
