Hypnosis is shrouded in mystery but learning is easy safe and fun.

You too can change your life by the power of hypnosis.  Stop smoking, lose weight, gain confidence.  It changed my life, now it's your turn.

Hypnosis Myths

Mesmer Svengali and all that.

As the title of this lens suggests, Hypnosis is surrounded by mystique. great cures have been attributed to its power. patients undorgo complex surgical procedures without the use of dangerous anasthesia. The list goes on. What exactly is this hypnosis phenomenan that has got the world so excited.

Modern hypnosis was first practiced by Anton Mesmer. His theories on animal magnetism were probably nothing more than deep suggestionto the subject but it worked. Modern science then stepped into the breach and Milton Erikson developed the clinical use of hypnosis and wrote the standard textbook work on the subject.

Erikson postulated that hypnosis was akin to deep sleep where the patient is more susceptable to suggestion, his concious reasoning faculties having been distracted so the subject enters into a waking sleep state.

Techniques used by the hypnotist involve mainly eye fixation and the repetition of the word "sleep ". Most patients having seen hypnotists on TV respond readily to these suggestions.

There are many routes to go down if we want to learn to hypnotize others or ourselves. Courses abound all over the internet and the average searcher on Google cou;d easily find themselves lost in the minefield of educational establishments all trying to part the would be practicioner with his or her hard earned cash. It is very easy to spend thousands of dollars on courses to become a qualified hypnotherapist and most organisations who certify insist that you pay them an additional fee each yeaar to "keep your skills up to date".

This I would sugest is mere profiteering. If you atre in a clinical practice once qualified then your skills will be up to date through regular practice and experience of clients reactions to hypnosis.

Is there a better alternative?

I think there is. In the UK at least, one doesn't need a licence to practice hypnotherapy but you atre advised to have public liability insurance. A British Home Office report concluded that hypnosis is intrinsicaly safe with few side-effects

Learning Hypnosis cheaply and safely

Starting with self-hypnosis.

Self hypnosis is a deeply relaxing and rewarding experience. For the beginner, I recomensd that you have a look at my website and try for yourself some of the excellent mp3 downloads you will find there.

Roger Elliot is a practicing hypnothetrapist with many years experience and I use his downloads on a regular basis to aid concentration. Having a 4 year old son does tend to sap the energy a bit when you are homeschooling so this is just the thing.

Roger also has a free mini course available to give you a taster of hypnotising others before you commit yourself to a more expensive course.

Coming soon are pages by the interrnationaly famous Paul Mackenna who besides being a TV star is the author of sone great works including I"I can make you thin".

Also coming soon is Adam Eason another internationaly famous practicioner of hypnosis.
