I Am In Love With Music

Ranked #5,853 in Music, #162,324 overall

Nothing In Life Is As Powerful As Music!

Seriously if music was a woman, I'd marry her not thinking twice!

I Love Music!

Have you ever heard someone say a word, and the first thing that happens is your mind relates that word with a song? Have you ever heard a song and it takes your mind to the first, last, and best time you had while listening to it? If so then you love music too...

Why I Love Music!

"This Lens Is Under Construction!"

I don't think there is really much that isn't going to be the same for me as It is for anyone taking their time to visit... But just in case!

Here Is a quick rundown of some of the reasons I Love Music

1. You can always find a song for your mood, Right Now!

2. Music has a way of asking you the question "Can you relate"

3. Rhythm is in us all! (Yes you too with the two left feet) <---

4. Music is the very simplest art form you just "feel" it!

Wanna Make Your Own Music?

If you have ever thought about making your own music you are not alone! If the only thing holding you back is the lack of funds to invest in a studio or even expensive instruments, consider taking a look at My Beatmaker-Beatmaker Lens to give you an Idea of how awesome, as well as cheap it can actually be to make studio quality music. Or if you'd rather cut to the chase here is What I Use!

Care To Dance?

Does music make you want to get up land get loose? I know it does me, I rock a pair of boogie feet! Does music make you just want to get up and dance too? Now I have to admit that I can't play a single "lick" on a guitar... But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy one! I am not very instrumentally inclined but what I do excel in is writing... But that is an entirely different story.

My Favorite Genres

So I really can't say that these are in order from most favored to least favored because truly... They all fit their purpose!

"I can't Even say these are all of my favorites, because for the sake of time/space I will list the most popular."

Hip-Hop/Rap
- Now definitely this has been the music that I have favored most of my life for different reasons, from artists like Grand Master Flash and The Furious 5, 2Pac, Outkast, UGK etc. like but honestly some of it I could stand to see leave... "Stanky Leg" Yeah I'm sorry but my leg ain't "Stanky"

R&B - Now here is a keeper from old school artists like Marvin Gaye to the new school artists like Miguel, and the forever missed Aaliyah. I love R&B because not only does it set the mood ;) but, also generally picks the whole mood up in a relaxing way of course!

Classic Rock - Seems to be more and more forgotten as the time goes on, there is so much good music in this genre. A few of my favs include Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Steely Dan, Tom Petty, The Doors etc.

Country - Some of the people how know me would be surprised to know I enjoy Country also, but the fact is they tell good stories! From the classics of Merl Haggard, and George Jones to artists like Brooks and Dunn, and Toby Keith. County music is alright with me :)

The Blues - By the title of this Genre you can accurately depict the majority of the influence of it is from "Having the Blues". In this Genre you can undoubtedly expect to hear the harmonica! With greats like B.B. King and Buddy Guy you just can't go wrong!

Jazz - Here you will get "extra horns with that" You get a usually up tempo melody, with lots and lots of horns :)

I love Hip-Hop

Hip Hop is one of the most diverse forms of expression there is, unfortunately it has received a bad wrap from its plenty of critics for the assumption that hip-hop and rap is all about "money & hoes".

This is in part one of the many reasons hip hop icon Nas made the song "Hip Hop Is Dead" That and a few other things that includes the annoying "Auto-Tune".

It seems like everywhere you listen you will find some new and ridiculous song like "Stanky Leg" or... Lil' Wayne! Not saying that Wayne doesn't have any good music or that he isn't funny, but let's face it he's a punchline rapper, and nothing more.

I read a Yahoo Answers question and this is what it asked "I am 12 and want to become a rapper, are 50 Cent and Lil' Wayne good role models to look up to because they are my favorite" Ummm Seriously? Yeah, maybe in a business light, but definitely not for becoming an Emcee! It's proof that Nas was onto something with "Hip Hop Is Dead", these kids don't know anything but the mainstream garbage... Granted not all mainstream is garbage but definitely most!

When hip hop first hit the scene it was about fun and having a party, being better than you once where... It was about the struggle... It was about surviving and overcoming... But now it's hard to find an artist who is true to these roots, but they do exist! Just not so much in the mainstream, sure you have artists that made it big and now have a bank full of digits, but most sadly sold out to get it...

I Love R&B

R and B is definitely one of the most listened to genre's of music by me personally. I just Love how mellow, and relaxing it is. I fall asleep to it every night from the old School El Dabarge to new school Jazmin Sullivan, There isn't much in this wonderful genre that would turn me away! The best part of it is the fact it has a way of sending the mood straight to "sexy".
