I Am Left Handed

If you're anything like me, you'd agree that being left handed is pretty special. Left handers have come quite a long way in what seemed to be a right handed world. Did you know being left handed was once unacceptable? People were actually scolded and ostracized for doing what came naturally to them. I was a victim of this behavior once before. My kindergarten art teacher, who wasn't very congenial to begin with, stopped me in the middle of a project one day to tell me I was using the scissors with the wrong hand. This was especially confusing, being a small child and having no one tell me this before. Fortunately it was the one and only incident I've ever had with another person. Of course I've dealt with minor challenges along the way, but I believe they have all helped me grow as a person. The purpose of this lens is to reflect on some important left handers, past and present, and to look at some of the cool things that are out there for left handed people.
