I Forgot Day

Many different illness can make a people forget. Even as simple as low thyroid level all the way up to old age or cancer.

I was with my mother the last month she was alive. A few years earlier they had found cancer and only gave her 6 months to live. She went pass the 6 month mark and started to get active again. She was in remission and she was beginning to feel great. She started to do things she used to do like garage sale shopping. She loved finding things and not paying much for them, like most of us do.

Two and half years later she came out of remission and cancer was attacking her spine and brain now. I lived 200 miles away at the time and got a phone call in the middle of the night. They didn't think she was going to make it and my dad was calling all us to get to the hospital. She didn't pass like they thought but she didn't know who I was. She would tell my sisters to get out of her room so I tried and the same with me but I only went to the door. Sat with her for 18 hours a day for 2 weeks with her not really knowing what was going on. I was getting very tired so my dad sent me home for a few days. My aunt was in town and she could take care of mom for acouple days.

When I came back to town and went into my mom's hospital room, she was alert and happy and knew who I was. She was back to herself and she had fun talking. One of my sisters came to stay with her one night. They were like two teens, talk and more talk, all night long.

Anyone that has had a loved one that has forgotten and needed help, has memories no one else will have. You will cherish them.
