I Just Hate Emo Kids!
I Hate Emo.
Emo kids to be exact. For one, it is starting to take over the Philippines and my friend is affected by the the deadly virus. He dresses in all black, sends me emo SMS quotes (example, Nobody understands me!) but fortunately, he has not grown his hair yet. But I will be the first to tell him it looks ugly when he does.
So what are emo and emo kids, anyway? And why do I darn hate it so much? Lemme count the ways.

Don't get me wrong now, I don't have an aversion to the music genre which this trend had originated from. But dude, I like Fall Out Boy too, but I don't dress like Pete Wentz. I don't have to be a member of the fab five to tell you that the all black, tight-fitting, you-look-like-a-mime-but-not-so look is an atrocity.
Kid, there are more options in the color palette.
And by the way, you look like a Peruvian hamster. Get a hair cut.

Emotional Much?
The biggest issue that most people, including me, hate about emo kids is that they take sensitivity to the next level. Way next levels. To explain it further let me give you this analogy:
Einstein:IQ as Emo:EQ
Yup, emo kids must have the EQ of an emotional genius. But the sad fact is they tend to gravitate towards the negative emotions, which I truly hate. Everyone has something going through in their lives. But they do not scream, cry and talk about it too much.
It is not cool to be sad or angry. In fact, it irritates me.

Anyway, the point is, I had it bad. I'm not trying to be a Martyr. Indeed, I'm proud of what I was able to do for my country, even if I only remained active for four months. What I'm trying to say is that, well, I didn't turn Emo. I had it worse than any Emo kid out there, and yet I refused to stoop to a level such as that. Now granted, I'm a bit old to be an Emo kid, but the point is that I didn't drop to such a level. Emo kids, toughen up. Case closed.

Perhaps emos are made fun of more but they make themselves more subsceptible to mocking because they type like idiots, post way to many pictures of themselves (making them seem self-centered or attention seeking), act immaturely and pretensiously, and complain excessively.
One last comment on the whole 'my life is so hard' bullshit: If it was really as bad as you say you probably wouldn't parade around telling everyone about it. Pain is not a trophy and everyone has been though something, not just you.

What I don't find amusing is that people tend to suppress others, specifically emos kids, emotions are strong, and when you feel rejected or demeaned by others, it doesn't help.
So what's your purpose ? Nobody is emo, nobody is depressed, without the result of another person's actions. If you're born in a poor family, abusive parents, perhaps a brother that's raped you, bullied in school. Of course you're going to be depressed. And YOUR suppressive actions aren't going to have any positive influences on the person, in fact any one can be emo, any one could consider suicide and many DO, because they don't know what to do.
Persons, misunderstand this for they haven't been put into the situation.
When you offer advice to an emo kid, do you look at their story as if you were in their position, what would you do, because we're always looking how can we fix this problem, No.. In fact it's usually you 'trying to give advice' and it doesn't help, so you believe the emo kid is just fucked up, and isn't looking for a solution. Well put yourself in their positions. -Google emo stories, stories of abused people- and such, you'll understand, if you were raised as someone that does in fact care of others, how we feel. What we've been through.
Any soul may be brought down through society, Unless you're into that sort of thing, continue making threads such as these, Fucking up, someone's day, and so forth. Be imaginative. =]

- Did you know this is considered cyber bullying? That Giving death threats and telling people like me to go cut themselves and that we are no good? I may be emo but it's because of reasons I will not speak of. Am I proud of being emo? No. Do I tell people I am emo freely? No. I'm very shy, actually, but I will tell you I play three instruments, trumpet, electric guitar, and keyboard; I love music like Green Day, A Day To Remember, Escape The Fate, Sum 41 and Silverstein. Music is my life as you can see. I have a boyfriend who helps me with my emotions and cares, and I have a few good friends. There's a lot More to me but I am just one person who is considered an emo and hated on this site. I an individual, no "emo" or person is the same. Remember that.

- When I read this the first thing I thought was: 'Go cry Emokid.' Now you actually sound like one of the Emos i wouldn't hate, but seriously, it's the Internet. People rant about things they hate all the time, and you feel bullied because they tell Emos to go cut themselves? How do you react when someone looks at you wrong in real life? This is not bullying, it's just stating your opinion, some with stronger words than others. Of course some Emos will be offended, but they can write on some blog about how they hate stupid people on the Internet who hate on them even though they don't even know them ;)
Yes, people hate on a whole group even though not everybody is like that, or almost noone fits the prejudice. I'm german and a lot of people think that germans are Nazis. Does that offend me? Yes. Do I go whine about that on the Internet? No. And do you know why? Because nobody gives a shit anyway.

- ...I really don't understand your definition of an "opinion". Telling someone to cut themselves is not an opinion, it's 100% blatant bullying no matter what way you slice it. I'm not emo but I do sympathize with some of them (the mature ones anyway) so I feel like all this unnecessary hate gets no where.
If people start thinking that it's alright to demean a person (whether or not they're emo) then they seriously have to question themselves on what gives them the to right to do that. They're worse then the people they're insulting.
