The name of Monday is derived from Old English Monandæg and Middle English Monenday, which means "moon day". In many other languages the translation is similar, referring to the moon in some manner, or to the day after Sunday. Wikipedia.
Biblical references consider three Mondays in the calendar year unlucky: the first Monday in April; the second Monday in August, and the last Monday in December. Thai Buddhism views Monday as a day of Making Peace.

I don't mind Mondays now, but once upon a time, I hated Mondays
When I was a working single mother (back in the days when moms stayed at home and dads went to work) and had to leave my girls with a sitter, I dreaded Mondays. Things are different today, and there are many more safe child care options available to working moms and dads.
