I Love Horse Jumping!

It is really fun and worth the (little amount of) work! The highest I have ever jumped was about two feet. Somewhere around there. I have jumped an 18 inch bounce! I have only been riding for six and a half months, so that is pretty good for my level and age (not to brag).
Two of my friends (sisters) are high level riders, and they own a retired race horse. Their instructer was a perfectionist, and they didn't get to jump untill they rode for about two years! I feel bad for people who don't jump in the first few years, because jumping is so much fun!

How to jump
Jumping can be easy, and fun, or it can be hard. It depends on your level, and confidence. Are you willing to control the horse? Or is he going to control you? When you are first starting, you will want to start low. Don't get ahead of yourself! You'll line your horse up a few horse lengths away. Make sure you are straight and lined up. Then you can trot or canter up to the jump and when you get about a foot away (when your horses front feet are taking off the ground) you can then go into two point. Lean like that until your horse lands. These are some cool products you will enjoy!
What's Two Point?
Two point is basically leaning forward. When you gallop, you slightly go into two point. When you jump, (even when its small) you go into two point. Make sure you're in two point or you'll get a back ache, and it might make you horse uncofortable. Two point is an easy and simple process, and makes jumping a lot more fun and easy! Jumping

I used to LOVE jumping! When I was younger my friends and I used to build our own cross country courses out of logs we found lying around in a big bush paddock. It was so much fun! These days I don't really jump my horses, but I should start doing it more often - I'm sure they'll enjoy doing something different :)

- I've never jumped a horse (and would probably fall off, as I've only been on a horse a few times!), but it looks like fun!

- I've never jumped a horse, but I've gone to horse camps for three years, and I love riding! I bet your really good at horseback riding, compared to me.
