I Love My Little Red Camera

Not bad, huh?

I'm not a professional photographer. I'm not even a very skilled amateur picture taker.

I'm just me, your average everyday person who was born a bit too early to have gotten computer classes in high school and too late to be considered too old to be computer savvy.

In other words, I'm one of those lucky people who had to learn how to use their computer, (and every other piece of electronic equipment that I own), from my children and I'm here to tell you that I had no trouble figuring out how to get a great picture out of this camera.

Trust me, if I can do it, so can YOU!

The photos on this page are of my dog Ebony Rose. Okay, I'll admit that she's actually very easy to photograph because she literally poses. I think she might have been a fashion model in a previous life but just take a look at the quality of this (my very first) picture.

Notice that her eyes are their normal shade of brown and not flashy red like you get with some cameras. (The Coolpix S60 has a one-click button that takes care of that for you. It also has a vibration reducing button.)

You can virtually see each hair on her beautiful head and ears, along with the wood grain of my hardwood floors.. Amazing!

I didn't even have the camera completely set up yet. There's tons of easy one-click settings to choose from, including one especially for photographing food. If you've read any of my other Squidoo pages, you know how much I love writing recipes. Now I can finally supply my own photos to go with them!

Up until I bought my Coolpix camera, the only thing I knew about cameras was: point and click. In fact, most of my previous photos had been taken with disposable flash cameras.

That's part of the reason why I'm so in love with my new camera. It's so easy to use!

But there's more.......

My favorite feature is that the Nikon Coolpix S60 camera lets you edit your photos right on the camera. You can cut, crop, stretch, add frames, change your photo to black and white, sepia or blue. You can even paint, write notes, and leave stamps on your photos.

Oh! And the touch screen capabilities are pretty cool too!

Even though the camera is small enough to take anywhere, the touch screen is large enough for easy viewing and editing purposes.

And as an added bonus for those of you who wear eyeglasses, (like me) you won't have that camera to glasses problem anymore. You know... where you have to get the camera into just the right spot where you can see through that tiny viewer, while keeping your glasses on your nose to focus.

With the Coolpix S60, all you do is look at the full sized screen on the back of the camera!
