This lens was inspired by the award of my fourth purple star on Squidoo. I now have eight Purple Stars. I love purple!
The latest Purple star was given in May 2012 for my 10 Reasons to Grow Fresh Herbs
I love all things purple. A quick glance in my wardrobe shows that purple features highly.
My jewelry is largely purple too- my birthstone is amethyst so I have a head start.
Many of my favorite flowers are purple, and one of my favorite herbs is lavender.
Here I'll share my love of all things purple with you just for fun.

I was amazed when I got an email saying " Congratulations, you've been awarded a purple star for Grasmere Blackberry and apple Crumble with a hint of ginger
In those days, only Squidoo Giants could be awarded purple stars, and I wasn't a Giant then. I emailed back telling them I though there had been a mistake, but no, it turned out that the great lens maker theraggededge had taken part in a special Giants award session and had bee allowed to give purple stars to ordinary squids.

Lavender- loved throughout History- my second Purple star lens.
Lavender- a really appropriate lens for a Purple Star.
I still wasn't a Giant when I was given a Purple star for my Lavender lens.
I was trying hard to get to 50 lenses, to apply for Giant, and was doing some of the Get Cracking with Bonnie and Robin challenges.
Over a holiday weekend we were given the task of making a really great lens that could win a Purple Star.
I went for it, and was thrilled to be given my second Purple Star for this lens about Lavender

This lens about my local village, Grasmere won a Purple star in July 2010
I finally made it to Giant at the end of June 2010, and a couple of weeks later I was delighted to receive a Purple Star for 10 Things to do in Grasmere
I live in Grasmere, in England's Lake District. Poet William Wordsworth lived in Grasmere and wrote his best poetry at Dove Cottage Grasmere . Wordsworth is buried at Grasmere Church, and Grasmere Village is a tourist honeypot, so I though a Guide written by a local might be helpful.

I love celeriac, a strange vegetable often called "the ugly one". I was taking part in a Rocketmoms challenge for Rocketmoms session 7 to write a lens on the topic "fun with food" and this is what I came up with.
I wanted to share my enthusiasm. Celeriac is very popular in France, and becoming popular in the UK. Top chefs like Jamie Oliver love celeriac and Jamie's recipe for smashed celeriac ( typical Jame to call it "smashed") is a real winner.

I just have to tell you about a new purple love affair I'm having.
I love my purple Dyson Vacuum cleaner!
I hate housework, but I have just taken delivery of this amazing Dyson vacuum cleaner and I'm blown away by how efficient this Dyson is!
I've bought it to clean our Grasmere vacation rental cottage . We allow our guests to bring dogs- the cottage is a prefect location for dogs, as it's on a hiking trail and no traffic goes by. Dog hair was a problem though- until I bought my Dyson Animal Cleaner!
The Dyson truly is amazing. Well worth every cent! With no bags and a clear cylinder you can see everything the Dyson picks up- you'll be staggered when you see what your old vacuum cleaner left behind. The first time you use a Dyson vacuum you're in for a real shock when you see how much your old cleaner had missed.
