You probably remember the famous scene in the iconic movie, "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial", where Elliot lures the alien to him using Reese's Pieces candies. But did you know that these peanut buttery candies were not the first choice to be used in the blockbuster hit (silly producers)? Amblin Productions first approached Mars, Inc., the makers of the famous M&M's, to be the sweet treat that would bring E.T. to trust and befriend the little boy. The company turned down the offer (silly corporation), making way for Hershey's to step in and win the alien's favor with their delicious Reese's Pieces candies.
