Mineral Makeup How-Tos by Beautiful Diva Minerals

For a flawless application, always start with the basic 3 of skin care: Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize. You should wash and moisturize your face before applying any type of makeup. Do not apply foundation to freshly moisturized face, allow moisturizer to absorb or else you will end up with a dark, cakey look ? very unbecoming.

The most important Tool in mineral makeup application is your brush. The wrong brush can result in your makeup not spreading well across you face and too much makeup in the wrong places making you look "fake". We recommend a good Kabuki brush or Powder Brush with dense short hair that is soft to your face. Synthetic brushes may not be the best.

Not getting the type of coverage you want? Too much product on your brush can give you an unnatural look. Mineral makeup is very concentrated and because very little fillers are added, you only need a small amount. To apply loose minerals (1)Tap a small amount to your sifter jar cap or to a white tissue and swirl your brush around, (2) tap product into brush. To apply pressed minerals, simply swirl your brush in lightly in the minerals and tap product into brush

Buff It Up! The more you buff you face when applying your mineral makeup, the better the coverage. Apply your mineral makeup in circular motions all over your face. This will help blend and provide the coverage you seek.

Mix It Up! Finding the right mineral makeup shade is imperative. If your mineral foundation disappears when applied to your face, then you have found your perfect match. If you color is too dark or too light, consider combining it with a lighter or darker shade to find your personal match. Remember, the foundation shade you use during the winter may not be good for you during the summer, so change your foundation color accordingly.
