The iTouch is nice, just what you'd want in a palmtop computer. Very nice user interface (two-finger zoom) and hardware. Some improvements:
1) Device should have a lanyard loop in top corner.
2) An IR or docking-stn folding keyboard would expand useability. I used one with my Palm for years, good as a laptop substitute for note taking & writing.
3) Paying for minor OS upgrades (Apps store) is unwelcome. This Microsoftish revenue model makes me very leery of Apple.

My son loves the Apple iPod touch 16 GB (1st Generation). He is discovering the vast number of applications and availability of WiFi usage. Great product!!!

My boyfriend bought this for christmas at $199 here at amazon, and we had found it to be a great product. At firts I was a bit worried that because it was 1st gen it was going to be poor quality in comparison. But NOT AT ALL. My cousin bought the 2nd gen for a larger price and the only difference I could encounter was that the 2nd gen has build in speaker. Which for us it makes no difference, he bough an ihome speaker for $30 and it works great, plus one will probably end up buying one anyway. Thw wi-fi function is great, its like having your own mini portable laptop, you can connect to anything, you can download free games etc... I m even thinking of buying one for myself because it it so cool. I would definetly recommend it. If the price seems reasonable for you buy it.
