Challenge drill
This simple ice hockey goalie drill can be practice by any goalie of any age. It will also follow them as they progress over the years. The idea of this drill is to have goalies come out from their net and make it almost impossible for a shooter to find a hole.
The goalie must stand at the edge of his crease to begin. As players skate towards him and take shots, he will have to move from right to left without backing up. Once the goalie gets use to this he, can now move even further from the net and challenge even more the shooters.

Screen shot
As it says, this ice hockey goalie drill serves to fight off screening by the opposing team. It will also greatly help with your goalie's reaction time. The goalie is in the net and two players are in front of him so that the goalie can barely see.
Another player is at the blue line and must take a shot on goal. The purpose of this drill is so that the goalie will be forced to react on reflex to shots coming into his view at the last second. He must do this without the benefit of anticipation and recognition of the shooters body positioning.

Strength and balance
Two players on each side of the net hold a stick vertically across the net. The goalie must accept a shot from behind the stick, move under the stick so that he will now be in front, accept another shot, the he must skate backwards under the stick to find his original position and take another shot.
He must repeat this ice hockey drill and each time the drill is completed, the shots must come a little faster each time. This drill will help with strengthening and conditioning the leg muscles, improve balance, coordination and movement around the net, as it will simulate the movement of a game situation.

Shuffle drill
In this ice hockey goalie drill, the goalie must test his speed and flexibility. Players will be taking shot from both face off circles on the left and right of the net. Other players will be positioned in the middle.
Going from left to right, the players will take shots, as the goalie must move quickly from left to right. Once the goalie gets use to the speed of shots, the players can now mix it up and start from right, to left, to center, to left, to right and so forth.
