...see, I know this guy...

I really can't explain it, but icons are like my drug. I've got stashes on my old computer, my new computer, my work computer... and I don't even use most of them!

They're just... so pretty.

So anyway, that's how I've come across the sites I'm going to tell you about. I know the places to check out, and I know the places to avoid. I've got tips and tricks for how to make your icon collecting experience as fun and enjoyable as possible. In short, I'm the guy you want on your side as you go on an icon hunt.

Iconbuffet

Everyone loves free samples!

I heard about Iconbuffet shortly after it launched, and the concept is a great one: give away special edition icons based on the standard icon packs you're selling, and turn your fans into a community by turning them into product evangelists for you. They sure got me—my wife and I have bought a few icon packs from them in the past few months.

When you sign up for their monthly Free Deliveries, you not only get access to a new icon set each month, but you get invitation codes to pass those icons to five other people. They can be existing members or the uninitiated—either way, it's as fun as trading baseball cards used to be! (You know, back when stiff chewing gum was part of the deal?)

Go ahead, sign up for the monthly Free Deliveries! You don't have a thing to lose, but you might become a junkie. ;)

Once you've signed up, check out my IconBuffet lens for vital tips, tricks and tutorials!
