Baby Scrapbooking

Do you have your baby book that your parents made for you? You know, the traditional baby book where your first word was recorded, a piece of your hair from your first haircut was taped in it, along with your first tooth.

Well, nowadays you can create something that's a bit more creative and a lot more fun. It's called scrapbooking and it is a hobby that millions of people are enjoying. Making a scrapbook involves a lot more than recording your baby's first tooth!

Baby scrapbooking is a new way for parents to construct something unique and fun for themselves and their baby. Instead of following a traditional formula, they can let their imaginations run wild and create a masterpiece of love.

GETTING STARTED:

*Start with a few good photographs from your collection and go from there.

*But wait! Before you actually start attaching photos, you should sit down and think about what you want.

*Create a layout containing colorful patterns, beautiful fonts, lots of embellishments and anything else that strikes your fancy. Your scrapbook is only limited by your imagination.

*Remember, NO rules. You are the creator. There are so many items you can use as decorations and embellishments; beads, little colorful stars, stickers, flowers, construction paper, and whatever else you can dream up.

THE BEST PART

There is another very enjoyable ingredient to creating a scrapbook, shopping for all of the materials!

Go to your local craft store. It will have plenty of scrapbooking materials and ideas. You can also shop online. There are many online craft shops.

Once you're ready, you have several options to choose from before you start. Do you want to create your scrapbook yourself or do you want to purchase a baby scrapbooking kit? You might want to check out some kits before you make your decision.

If you purchase a baby scrapbooking kit, it will come with everything you need to get started including examples of layouts, patterns, etc. If you decide to create your own, you will be investing a considerable amount of time into the project.

WHAT YOU NEED

When you go shopping, you will be tempted to buy more than what you need. Think about what you really need and go from there.

The basics are scissors, paper, and double-sided tape. Of course, you will also want to get the things you want for decorating your pages (stickers, beads, flowers, etc.).

Once you get started, your creativity will begin to flow and you will be amazed at how much fun you will have. Just think, when your baby is no longer a baby you will have a beautiful and unique memory book that you both can look at for years to come.

Creative Scrapbooking

Creative scrapbooking is coming up with original and imaginative ideas for your scrapbooking projects. However, coming up with ideas can be difficult. If using your creativity and talent is not doing it for you, there are some very helpful tips you can use to move forward with your scrapbook.

TIPS ON WHERE TO GET IDEAS

*Looking at other people's scrapbooks is a good way to get ideas for your scrapbooks. This can give you ideas for layouts and themes that you might want to use.

Customize what they use to fit your layout plans. You can also swap ideas with other scrapbookers who are trying to find ideas for their own scrapbooking projects.

*Go to the library and check out craft books and magazines. You will find a huge source of ideas.

In fact, you will probably be overwhelmed by all of the possibilities available for your scrapbooking ideas. Make sure you also check out the craft books in the children's sections.

*Visit your local craft shop. They will have enough materials and ideas to get your imagination and creativity running into high gear.

You will also probably discover additional ways to create a scrapbook that you had not considered before.

*Get out your photo albums and go through your own pictures. Are there photos from special occasions that you would like to commemorate? You will be surprised with the ideas you can come up with for layouts and creativity.

MATERIALS TO WORK WITH

Before you go running off to the craft store, if you have materials at home to work with, spread them out and take a good look at them.

By seeing exactly what you have, you may not have to make a trip to the craft store and it will be easier for you to come up with ideas for layouts.

Let your imagination run wild. Use colors and shapes that you would not normally use. The most important rule of creative scrapbooking is to have fun.

There is no wrong way and there is no right way. Do what YOU want to do and run with it.

Ultimate Scrapbooking Guide

Whether you are new to scrapbooking or are a scrapbooking pro, you are always looking for new ideas to create your perfect scrapbooks. There are so many resources to choose from, it's hard to know where to start.

One of the best scrapbooking resources available, the Ultimate Scrapbooking Guide, will teach you secrets to creating beautiful and amazing scrapbooks while saving time and money, no matter how long you've been a scrapbooker!

Scrapbooking Eyelets and Scrapbooking Fonts

Are you trying to come up with creative ideas for your scrapbook? There are many different and enjoyable methods you can use to spice up your pages. One of those ways is to use eyelets, an easy and unique way to decorate your scrapbook.

Any kind of embellishment you can add to your scrapbook pages will make them more interesting and beautiful. Using eyelets is a wonderful way to add color and excitement to your layout pages. There are many different designs, colors, sizes and shapes you can choose from.

Eyelets can be used to fasten other pieces of material to the page or they can be used as a way to draw attention to a particular spot on the page. Once you have placed your eyelet(s) you will have an opening that you can use to thread ribbon, wire, or tags through the page. (Ribbons can add a colorful and lovely touch.)

It is quite simple to attach eyelets to your scrapbook pages. If you want the hole close to the edge of the paper, you can use a standard hole puncher. If the hole needs to be in a different area, you will need to use an eyelet setter. Once you have inserted the eyelet into the hole, turn the page over and place on a flat surface and use a hammer to flatten the back of the eyelet.

Using eyelets is a creative but cheap method to add flair to your scrapbook pages. You can find eyelets at your local craft shop or through online craft stores. Since there are so many different types to choose from, you should have no problem finding what you are looking for.

NOTE: Since eyelets are so small, it is a good idea to store them in a separate container, a container that has a tight lid. If you do that, you will not be so inclined to lose them.

Scrapbooking Fonts

If you love to journal in your scrapbook and are looking for unusual and unique fonts, you can find them online. There are a huge number of fonts that you can choose from, allowing you to create scrapbook pages that are fun and distinctive. Your only challenge will be to figure out what fonts to use!

You can also download free clip art, borders, and other images to add dramatic impact to your pages. To find lots of other free 'stuff' to help you create your scrapbook pages, do a search online for 'free scrapbooking supplies' or 'free clip art' and you will find plenty to choose from. You can also search by theme (holidays, hobbies, pets, etc.).
