Fun pirate party tips and ideas

A pirate party is great fun from start to finish. You can send out pirate party invitations, or even make your own. Then decorate for the party with pirate banners and flags. The table can be set with pirate themed plates, napkins, and tablecloths. You can also set the scene by playing sea shanties as background music.

Add a pirate cake or individual pirate cupcakes for fun pirate party food. There are a wide selection of toppers that can be used for pirate cakes and cupcakes, not to mention cute pirate birthday candles for that special birthday celebration. You can also serve punch in a bowl labeled "grog" for a festive touch.

There is a wide variety of games appropriate to a pirate party. You can have a pirate ship or treasure chest pinata full of pirate candy and coins. A large pirate cutout can be incorporated into a "pin the eye patch on the pirate" game. It's also fun to have a game involving a search for treasure (this is great for handing out party favours).

Even pirates can be polite. (Who wouldn't be polite to someone with a cutlass?) Promptly send thank you notes to your guests for any presents received. If you don't, you'll have to walk the plank.
